More like the bar is being set back to where it used to be.

It's not "being spoiled" to expect a PC port to actually target PCs, DX10/11 at this point should be standard (DX10 was released nearly 6 years ago), high res textures are a given (My 2 year old graphics card has more memory than the 360 and PS3 combined, etc.)

I agree I wouldn't describe taking advantage of technology to give a better experience as being spoiled, i'd describe it as something game makers should to. Frostbite 2 is a powerful game engine, why undersell it's capabilities.

You all missed the context in which i was implying the "spoiled" part .... :/

May help to read my previous "longer" post Located Here :)

Very disappointing. I was so looking forward and now not as much.

EA is trying to push Origin as an alternative to Steam:

Decides to gimp one of its most anticipated titles on PC.(-‸ლ)

Work that one out.

Most anticipated? I seem to recall they had a hard time deciding if there was even going to be a DS2.
___
Err, nope, but they hadn't planned to release a PC version for a while.

I don't think the popularity of the DS franchise is the issue here, more that when EA produced a press release about DS3 they promised that the Frostbite engine would being great improvements.

I'm not seeing any press release promising that. A lot of sites spread it around with a 'rumor' tag though.

A lot of people like the Dead Space series. There is a reasonable amount of hype around it.

They wouldn't be making a 3 at all if there wasn't.

Piracy dont seem so bad now does it....even though this title wont even be worth the bandwidth/electricity/wasted calories spent thinking about it.

Right. So I don't understand why a game published by EA is gimping it when you consider EA is trying to push Origin. You'd think they would want to make DS3 look great on PC to entice PC gamers to choose that platform.

I felt the same way with Mass Effect 3. Not about the pushing Origin bit, but the engine anyway. Still played a ton of it and prefer DX11 games, but with the transition in progress I'm not too annoyed by any specific title. If we still have DX9 stuff coming out next year I'll be annoyed.

Since I played the first 2 now I have to more or less play the 3rd to see how the story goes.

I'm just about to finish 2. It's weird, given how long I held off on finishing 1...think I only finished it because I already owned 2 :p

So I guess I might just grab this at launch.
