Mozilla calling it quits on Thunderbird, report says

I like thunderbird but it needs "minimise to tray icon" built-in. The 3rd party extensions don't work well, i get notifications of new gmail emails just after i have already read then when i minimise sometimes as the extensions are buggy.

If they gave me this then it would be perfect. The other problem is that you can't check your hotmail more frequently than every 15mins due to microsoft changing their protocol and not letting mozilla into it's details i believe.

I literally just found a copy of Outlook 2007 and I was looking to move over until my copy of Outlook 2010 arrives. For the past year I have been using Thunderbird and immediately I found awkward issues in Outlook 2007.

1: The signature setup is interesting, I have the company logo hosted externally and it seems to increase the size and pixal-ate.

2: The default "from" address is the same no matter what PST you are working with.

3: You cannot automatically BCC

These are all standard features within Thunderbird.

As many as you want.

Wrong, the free version is restricted to 2 accounts. That renders it entirely useless for me, I have 5 accounts I need to watch over. I'm not sure if I can justify spending $50/year to keep this software up to date, as nice as it looks :/

    • Fire and rehire. Doubt the work contracts are as favourable. Smart tactic using AI to do it legally.
    • > And, of course, it includes in-game purchases. Sigh.. of course it does. I just don't understand why anyone would want to play this on PC, when the far superior AoE 2/DE exists. Just kill this with fire already. Or a trebuchet.
    • Normally you'd just want to use Ventoy, but Rufus is handy when: - Ventoy doesn't work (some BIOSes can be weird) - You're mainly interested in creating a single Windows live USB and not interested in a multi-boot / Linux USBs - You want to automate your Windows installations (Rufus supports creating/injecting an autounattend.xml file which fully automates a Windows install). You can do this with Ventoy as well, but it requires a bit more of an effort. Also worth nothing is that both automatically bypass Windows 11's artificially imposed restrictions (TPM, CPU etc).
