FREE 1-year Bitdefender 2013 Antivirus Plus!

Recommended Posts

yeah, 1 free year is still better than a kick in the teeth :) I'm using the internet security version as i wanted the firewall too.

I'm using Windows Firewall Control, since I only need an a Allow/Disallow for outbound control. I finally found an old version (4.1.14.73) that I love and it's light on resources.

Thanks again for the share!

Cheers. Installed it and decided to run a full-system check - estimated time left is 27 hours and 29 minutes and the time keeps going up! I used to use NOD32 and full scans never took that long.

It's good they won a lot of AV awards, but personally found their real-time protection and/or engine to be too aggressive - that it would crash/hang certain programs such as Deluge and Everything Search Tool, even whilst away from the PC. Who knows what other programs it affects.

I think their HTTP scanning was slowing down web browsing somewhat too.

I'm not particularly impressed so far. Not only is the full scan taking a ridiculously long time but when I went to play a quick game of Civilization 5 it first wouldn't load and then hung during the loading screen; I had to Task Manager out and pause the scan to get anywhere, even though it had switched itself to game mode (which is apparently useless). I've never had to do that with other anti-virus software.

I know it has a very good detection rate but performance is important too.

I personally do not use any kind of antivirus as I never compromise my PC (which by the way I use strictly to play Battlefield 3 only. No web surfing, no chat, no email, nothing. It's a gaming rig. My everyday tasks computer is an iMac and my laptop has Linux plus I do not visit websites with questionable reputations either so no need for performance-slowing antivirus or security suites, BUT, if I were to use an antivirus I would use either Avast (better rates than Bitdefender) or NOD32.

I consider it highly unlikely that you have a PC that is only used for playing Battlefield 3. And even if that were true an antivirus doesn't have any noticeable impact upon gaming performance. If you're playing BF3 online then you're still putting your computer at risk, as there are always people trying to spread malware and there's the possibility that someone you own online will try to hack your computer because they're a bad loser. Arrogance is one of the most dangerous threats to safe computing.

I consider it highly unlikely that you have a PC that is only used for playing Battlefield 3.

And exactly why do you think I am lying about what I just said? I told you: I use a Mac for every day computer tasks and I also have a Linux machine that I use for other stuff. I DO NOT, and I repeat again, I DO NOT use my PC for anything other than gaming and BF3 is the ONLY game I play. Again, it is a gaming rig. No surfing, no chat, no email, no nothing. Just plain gaming. You are assuming I do not do any of that based on what? I have no reason to lie about it. I told you what I use my PC for and what I do with it and that is what it is. I have zero need to use my PC for anything other than what I built it for, and that is gaming. The Mac and the Linux machine are for computer use, not the PC.

Assumption is the mother of all fu....ups.

Sounds really cool! I have Webroot and I'm really happy. I got a free 6 months key after I liked their facebook page. I have to say it is the fastest AV software I have ever used. It doesn't even have an impact on the system.... It's certainly amazing! You can check the review here...

They must have re-designed it because I remember it was extremely system impacting and very bad and it was certainly more than 1MB in size. That is pretty amazing that it is so small yet so powerful. Nice.

bitdefender internet security 1 year http://www.techno360.in/bitdefender-internet-security-2013-free-one-year-license/ keys on picture ,but you need download BIS 2013 http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/internet-security.html and enter key from picture .i use this 2 days :)

...little update. I just turned my PC on, and Bitdefender now tells me the JZHT7W0 key is invalid. Tried activating the SU5GHJ0 key, and that came up invalid too. SHFNXWZ worked though, but weirdly it's given me 1,088 days. I have a feeling that's going to be nuked too very soon. Just giving you all a heads-up in case it happens to you too.

The official response is in

Mine went from 358 days to 1,088 days (~3 years). I hope they don't revoke it. :(

Going with arachnoid reply i would say the key will be invalidated shortly.

Well no biggie just hope ms would had the right click option and systray icon to Windows 8 Defender. Right now it looks like a poor man's version of Windows 7 MSE.

Given the way they've been deactivating keys left-right-and-centre I'd be surprised if it remained valid, especially when you're talking about a free code for three years worth of service.

Can anyone compare Bitdefender and Avast Antivirus software that from both, which will be the best? And why?

I find Avast better. Bitdefender stopped PatchMyPC from working, and it falsely flagged some game trainers as viruses and deleted them without notifying me or asking my permission. Found in general that Bitdefender was not all that configurable which I disliked.

I do as well, they have a new Beta out 4.8.1477

    • Payday TWO!! Is 13 years old man I feel old - I remember trying it out and if I did not know I would say 5-6 years ago or something
    • Payday 2 engine upgrade adds 64-bit and DX11 support, drastically shrinks install size by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Payday 2, the most popular entry in the heisting game franchise, is getting a surprising update after all these years. This is slated to be a complete engine upgrade that will enhance almost every aspect of the 13-year-old title, targeting performance, loading times, file size, rendering backend, and more. Developer Sidetrack Games is planning a beta to test out the new version ahead of the full public launch. The development team today revealed that the long-awaited upgrade to the 64-bit architecture is happening with this Diesel 3.0 engine update. By letting the game use more ram than 4GB, it is said to improve stability and compatibility on most hardware. It should also help modders in the long term with implementing larger changes too. "While many of the changes are made on the backend and not everything will be visible to you guys because it is a massive rewrite of the entire codebase, there will be a lot of things that you can look forward to," Sidetrack explained. Payday 2 will also hop over from DirectX 9 to 11. Instead of visual improvements, this is slated to reduce the amount of VRAM used by the title, letting more lower-end hardware access the title and run it better. Since these changes would require a complete redownload of the game anyway, Sidetrack says it has revamped "the game's packaging and bundling system." This should reduce the installation size from 86GB to 32GB. "So, now it's time to finally move the game to your SSDs," added the studio. The Payday 2 Diesel Engine 3.0 update is entering open beta on June 30 for Steam users. No console release plans were announced today. Sidetrack Games says it has been working on this complete rewrite of the codebase for the last nine months. While these changes should break most mods, the studio encouraged modders to use the beta period to repair their creations with support from the development team.
