Hi guys,

I want to buy a tablet. After trying different ones (Galaxy Note 10.1, Surface, iPad 4) I liked the iPad the most. The only concern is that the new redesigned iPad is around the corner. Do you think it will be released on March? Or fall? I can wait to buy it in March but I don't want to wait till September.

When do you think the new iPad will be released?

By new I mean the redesigned iPad 5 (like iPad mini and iPhone 5).

This is going to sound like trolling, but it isn't. Fact is fact. The iPhone 5 is not a redesign, it is just a stretched 4S with slightly updated internals.

my guess is march or april for the new ipad

I just got a ipad mini and have not put it down for days lol. my wife just traded in her Surface RT for one and also loves it .

even without a Retina screen the mini is outstanding .

if you want a more bulky in size go with the ipad 4 or wit until late spring.

Though call, although if I were you I'd get the iPad 4th Gen now and then if needed sell it when the new one shows up this coming fall for a good second hand price. I can't imagine Apple adopting a twice-annually release cycle for their iOS products.

Would put to much strain on the supply chain and the increases would not be noteworthy enough.

I've got the iPad 3 Gen and loving it. A good travelling partner or to take around in the house with you when needed.

I think that it is safe to say we won't see a new iPad Mini until this Fall. As far as the 5th gen iPad, it is anyone's guess. If the rumors of the new case design are accurate and true, then I would suspect that we would see it around April. Otherwise there wouldn't be so much about the design already leaked out.

But Apple may have moved everything to a Fall just-before-Christmas release cycle.

If I were you, I'd wait until April and see how the rumors are going.

Looks like a duck; quacks like a duck. I think I'd call this comment a duck.

Obviously he means a redesign of the enclosure, which the iPhone 5 obviously is to the iPhone 4S. What the hell do you call a redesign?, a complete toss out of the old with something resembling a starfish case as "new" "redesign"? Please...get real.

I don't think we will see a new iPad this spring at all. I think the "rumor" that we heard about a March release was probably for the iPad 4 with 128gigs of memory that was just released. I think we will see a new Mini and full size during the fall along with a new iPhone

As far as which to get. Tough question.. Let me tell you I have 3 iPads. 2 full size ( Original and iPad 3 ) and a Mini.. I have to say after getting the Mini, I have not touched my full sizes at all, except to Jailbreak them, and when I picked them up I was amazed at how HUGE and heavy they felt. Retina display or not, the mini is perfect. At least for me.. Everyone is different though, but I can tell you this, I can do everything with the mini that I could do with the full size, I play all games on it, I read on it, books, flipboard, magazines, etc. I read websites, I take it to church as my full time bible, and best of all I can fit it the back pocket of "most" of my jeans just fine.

Honestly, I never plan on purchasing another full size again.

If you're going to get an iPad for reading I cannot recommend the iPad mini enough. Great weight and size. Easy on the eyes. The DPI is not really a concern and the battery lasts a lot. Great product. Might be my favorite iPad ever.

By your logic then the SGS serise is the same deal.

    • Depends on what you need. Might be a bit clearer on what you plan to do with it. Sort of a waste if you get the newest and greatest, but don't know how to use it.

    • Hi everyone, I'm planning a small network upgrade and was wondering how others prepare their networks for future needs. Do you usually invest in higher-speed switches and better cabling from the start, or do you upgrade only when necessary? I'd be interested in hearing what has worked well for you and any lessons you've learned over time. Thanks!
