Google Play Music & Protected AAC Files

Hey guys,

Just experienced something weird using Google Play Music and/or it's Music Manager software. Thought I'd ask about it here.

Basically I have some old iTunes songs that are still protected AAC files, and for the longest time they would not work on anything but an iPod/iPhone etc. However one morning the other day all my DRM-protected songs popped up on my track list on my phone, and they now play fine. I'm assuming the Music Manager has stripped the DRM off and converted them to MP3's. That sounds very naughty!

Has anyone else ever had this? I've not really seen any other mention of it across the web yet.

I think it's because Music Manager now uses scan and match and only uploads the (typically) few songs that it can't find a match for.
