I have a Ge washing machine model WWSE3160A0WW. I had a pair of pants laying on top of the washer and it was wrapped around the knob when I pulled the pants off it broke the little plastic thing that sticks into the knob to hold it on. It flew into the air and I have the knob but not the small black piece so I cant super glue that part back on and stick the knob on. What I'm asking for help is locating the part number for the black circle piece labeled "A" in my picture. There are numbers on the black circle piece that say "123c8286p001" But I am unable to locate anything on Google. For now I just popped the little black piece off the 2nd rinse option and swapped it with the load size and put it back together .

As a last resort I'd buy the ASM housing but not the part as a whole with the circuit board, any help is greatly appreciated.

Take the remaining piece to a washer repair place and explain what you need.

They may have the missing part from an old machine, and give it to you for little or no charge.

Edit: On a more serious note, I have used a soldering iron to melt the plastic from a CD case in the past. You slowly build up layers of molten plastic directly onto the broken part, fusing them together. Just make it roughly in the shape you need, then file/sand it down for a perfect fit. You could also put a small screw in their first, to give the plastic extra support.

Not everybody's idea of fun, granted, but it's an option.

Maybe if you give these guys a call and you explain the piece your needing off the Control Assembly they could just send you the piece instead of the entire Control Assembly.
