I am not impressed even by 1 bit.

Microsoft held back these options on purpose to reveal slightly tweaked options later. I can bet this update will not be free. It will come at very small premium.

These cosmetic tweaks should have been in Windows 8 since RTM.

They give people reason to "need" to upgrade to another version that will cost them. Most companies do it nowadays though to be honest, doesn't make it right though.

Sorry but it still looks as horrible as Windows 8. That UI just doesn't cut it.

What happens when you change the desktop Explorer borders to black? Have they fixed that annoyance?

I sure can man, I'll check and see if they added any more support for all HTML5 standards soon!

See the Calculate and Alarms apps names? I have same problem on my WP8 phone and i have also polish language (if anyone would wonder about these strange letters). It looks like some problem with coding.

Both apps were released by MS.

Microsoft always seem to use this technique to test localisation of text in modern apps. Use of fonts with accents, as well as additional characters to test string length.

The desktop got some really nice improvements with Win8.
Since MS thinks Metro is the future why would they spend more time updating the Desktop.
Although I would love them to update the icons a lot more I don't think we'll see this happening

What's the story for the search box on the upper right? Is that going to be there full time now?

I'm pretty sure that's just to block out the user tile - it's not actually a search box.
