Cool. So their choice of Church should rule over us all.

And I thought Christianity was all about compassion and forgiveness.

Never seen a larger bunch of selfish, judging people together.

The Bible also says we should stone adulterous women, sacrifice our children and give away everything we own and live poor.

They just regurgitate some stupid bull**** their narrow-minded pastor told them the one or two times a year they bother going to church. The rest of the time they're fornicating while drunk/high. Nothing worse than damn hypocrites. "Oh God says X stupid thing" then goes out and does something god also opposes.

One day they'll no doubt grow up and think "damn, I was a self-righteous little **** when I was young".

No they won't because by then god will have forgiven them for all their sins ;)

I don't think it's about hate as people say it is. I think society is becoming more and more lawless and without any morals. It's drifting.

I am personally not for gay marriage, but not because I don't hate anyone nor I am a bigot. It is simply because it's a slippery slope.

Morality is a moving target right now and Pedophiles can't get married yet, but this can change.

What is considered morally wrong in society can change over a period of time. Marriage starts to be watered down and start to lose it's meaning and I believe that God created marriage for a man and a woman from the beginning to have a strong family and to procreate.

You see it as discrimination, but then you could say the same thing about a 50 year old and a 15 year old wanting to marry or one man and many women wanting to get married.

The entire homophobia thing is really tiring. Very few people who are not for gay marriage are actually scared of being gay and have no desire of hurting a person who is gay.

I have had many men hit on me when I lived in West Hollywood, California and I was flattered, but that isn't for me. One time I was getting some food in the La Brea area and my wife noticed this blonde dude having that look and smiling at me. The funny thing is that I didn't notice right away until she said something. We both laughed about it and knew it was part of the culture there. I was better looking back then because I was younger. ;-p

It's not about taking something away, it's about stopping the moral decline in this country. You may laugh about Pedophiles getting married, but this is how it all starts and then people are going to say what is wrong with Pedophiles? You religious people are the problem.

Remember those who have their own morals and do not base it off of anything will change overtime and this is what we are already finding out.

Pedophiles can get married, just not to children. We would never allow it. I shouldn't have to explain why.

The fact that you think allowing 2 consenting adults of the same gender to marrying is like letting pedophiles marry children (which is what I assume you meant) entirely exposes your bigotry and disdain for gays. It's a ridiculous argument that has no basis in reality.

I could just as easily take photos of same-sex marriage supporters and make snarky comments demeaning them. But I won't.

That same thing used to be said about gay marriage as well. "Oh we'll never allow that to happen"....and look where we are now. Not saying I would want that to be legal or that it ever will be, just saying that making a statement that something will never happen is an incorrect because in the majority of cases it eventually does.

Holy crap, someone with another perspective! Can't wait for the militant hate-theist trolls to come in with their hilariously stupid anti-religious comments. Brb, grabbing popcorn.

As much as I'd like to annihilate the very foundation of your argument with a well-written and lengthy post, I'll simply say this: your argument is unsound.

Why you ask? "Because slippery slope. That's why." Hint: It's a logical fallacy.

Oh, and let's not turn this into a religious debate. I merely pointed out that your argument was unsound. Your post could have been about dancing wolves on Saturn and my response would have been the same.

We would never allow it? I disagree with that. In 10-20 years morals are drifting to the point where if a 54 year old man wants to get married to a 12-15 year old that it will be possible. As I said morality based on what you feel is a moving target. Adolf Hitler also had morality based on what he felt at the time and we see how that ended. My point is that morality based on how you feel at any given moment tends to change and float over a period of time. If you base your morals on something that doesn't float then you will stay with those morals.

I don't hate gay folks. I think Ricky Martin does look much more hotter than me. I said I just don't agree with marriage for the reasons that I posted. The fact that people can't have an opinion that is different than yours and being labeled as a bigot is the thing that gets me.

What I have to say isn't popular I know that, but it doesn't make me a hater or a bigot.

I find that it is a legitimate stance.

No, it's not a logical fallacy at all. There are really things called a slippery slope and we can look into history to see this. Check out WWII for example with Germany for example against the Jewish people and see how that ended up.

Your excuse is just to allow anyone to do whatever they want however they want and that isn't free, there are consequences that have to be paid (no matter what the excuse is).

Judging by the other posts, It seems to be a very...sensitive issue, one that could result in flames, etc.

So, just out of curiosity, why was this even posted?
