Rappy Veteran Posted April 11, 2013 Veteran Share Posted April 11, 2013 Last July, it was reported that Warner Bros. had hired Shutter Island's Laeta Kalogridis to write a prequel to The Shining. However, Deadline now reports that the studio has entered talks with former The Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara to write The Overlook Hotel. This will be a prequel to Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, but won't have any relation to upcoming novel Dr Sleep (a sequel to the original book) and it's thought that Stephen King won't have any involvement with this prequel. Personally, I would prefer to see a faithful adaptation of The Shining rather than a film not based on any of King's work. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JoshWildingNewsAndReviews/news/?a=77417
