Samsung Galaxy S4 MHL adaptor problem

Recently picked up the GS4 to replace the GS2. And I used to be able to connect up my Samsung MHL adaptor to my tv's hdmi to watch movies on my tv. But the same adaptor doesn't want to work now with my GS4, I thought the adaptor was a standard piece of kit that should work with any of the galaxy line. This is a shame because I don't want to have to shell out more money for a new adaptor incase it won't work.

The S4 uses MHL 2.0 which requires a new adapter unfortunately.

Yeah, unfortunately Samsung changed the pin order required for the MHL connector when they moved over to MHL 2.0.

Will the mhl adaptors for the s3 work with my s4 though, if so it would be a much cheaper option

Yes you can use the S3 MHL adapter but its limited to 24Hz, the 2.0 S4 adapter allows for 60Hz so faster screen redrawing and more clearer picture.
