I random came across this the other day. Remember when Doom 3 was released and you required a monster of a PC to play it? now new phones / tablets are pretty capable of playing it!

Turning off the advanced lighting effects improves the FPS massively on my Transformer Prime, however newer Android devices appear to be capable of playing Doom 3 in its full glory. You can even play network games with this unofficial port, Android Tablet vs the PC works quite well.

You will need to own Doom 3, either on disc or Steam to extract the data files needed for the Android port.

That's pretty cool. Saw another project that was pretty much the same as this except was Ragnarok Online.

Well of course if you turn the lighting off then Doom 3 is basically just Quake 3 with a higher poly count (and a drab color palette), it's hardly impressive that this would run on any sort of modern hardware let alone with gpu acceleration.

Nice but it really needs some of the polish the original game had.
