HDD not detected but it boot at windows xp?

I have computer with an 200 GB Western Digital HDD and runs on windows XP PRO SP3, all start with a BSOD and an error that search show me that I have disk problem , I open the Desktop PC take him at my hands test it at an external dock and it was working with a strange sound but it was working I connected at back at the pc and the problem start , I see a black a screen that said

Drive 0 not detected

Drive 1 not detected

Drive 2 not detected

Drive 3 not detected

Drive 4 wdc DVD secondary master

then it waits for 2 seconds

restart

show my WD HDD as primary slave

then it goes black and after that it show me that tell me

primary IDE not detected push f1 to continue

after that it log in at windows xp.

I have test at bios to by force tell him to boot from hard disk

and show him but the only option to make the XP run is to left him auto (bios) and by default the pc put it as primary slave , the jumper as the manual show me is at configuration ( it has 3 option master slave and configuration ) .

Inside at the box there is a cable that goes first at diskete then has a black connection that is not for the disk and the 3d a white ( gray ) that goes at HDD, it was working correctly I can not figured what happend .

First guess would be the os drive might be from a different computer, I've seen that happen,

Second, you might need to re install windows

If this is the case, then before you start, make sure all the jumpers and wiring are fitted correctly then windows should allocate drive paths.

Or you might have failing hardware, sorry.
