Steven P. Administrators Posted July 10, 2013 Administrators Share Posted July 10, 2013 Just noticed this when you hover over the Start button (which also must have focus to work). Pretty cool..

George P Global Moderator Posted July 11, 2013 Global Moderator Share Posted July 11, 2013 In 8.0 it kinda does this but in that version you get a very thin line going all the way up. Now with that in 8.1 it's easier to spot and does get your attention better. I think the overall task switcher needs a bit more work though. It really shouldn't have a limit on how many apps it can show, it should scroll vertically like how the new tabs scrolls horizontally in metro IE11. I also think it'd be nice to have the option to make it visible fully just by moving the mouse all the way to the left of the screen instead of one of the left corners. It would help speed things up a bit IMO. They did also have that one patent application for a new visual switcher, kind of a new take on the old Vista/7 3D switcher. Haven't seen that put into effect yet in 8.1, maybe for 8.2. Also why not just have close buttons on the task switcher windows, that actually does close the app since now in 8.1 when you do a quick pull down from the top without waiting it minimizes the metro app and doesn't close it like in 8.0.
