Microsoft joystick on Windows 8

Recommended Posts

I have been using the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback II and a Thrustmaster Top Gun II for Flight Simulator X. I have a new PC so I needed to re-install windows. Now, both throttles on both joysticks are not working. On the Game Controllers panel, the throttle is the Slider. It doesn't move. But when I calibrate the joystick, the slider moves and then after the calibration it doesn't move again.

Do you have any idea of what the problem could be?

I have Windows 8 x64 and I have bought an Asus Z87-K with an i5-4670, a Samsung 840EVO and added 8GB more of ram. The rest is in the signature. Could it be the new hardware?

It's the controller at least for the Sidewinder. They dropped support for it after XP, I believe. You *might* be able to install the drivers from the included disc but they won't work on x64.

Exactly, it was working fine until I changed my PC... Now I want to downgrade my BIOS to an older version and I can't. I think it is causing a lot of problems.
