HI,

I am looking for a laptop which will be used for application development, photoshop and other stuff. Also a touch screen is required. Which one do you suggest?

Also, is the intel i7 4500U powerful enough?

Thanks for your time and replies.

i wont be able to help you with touchscreen support. i know next-to-nothing about that.

i'd highly recommend you get an i7 w/ 4 cores. that 4500U is only a dualcore.

I dont normally recommend Dell, but their M-line workstations are nice. We use HP ProBooks and EliteBooks here at work. Theyre also very nice.

I really like Samsung and Asus laptops too.

Not saying you aren't correct but is there any reason to require i7 w/4 cores vs i5 w/4 cores? For Photoshop i doubt there would be single difference?

As for recommendations - can't really offer any but i know the Dell M-Line (without touchscreens are the ones i've used) are pretty sweet.

I don't work for Lenovo or affiliated with them at all, i just buy their stuff so i know the options there! :p

I was just checking but seems the T440p and T540ps are out now. They are portable workstations. Back in the days i had the P edition of older versions of Thinkpads but now i just go for S for slim/light/portable stuff. The P stuff might be right up your alley for a workstation.

there's probably no real reason to get a i5 vs i7. i think most important here is the quadcore. App development can benefit from the cores
