Leif
I'd like to try out Kubuntu, however when I use the same process used to create the Ubuntu Live USB, Kubuntu won't boot. Specifically, my computer displays the following error: "Kernel panic - not syncing: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel. See Linux Documentation/init.txt" and the caps lock light flashes Any ideas? I'm using this method to create the Live USB: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows
Mindovermaster Moderator Posted January 18, 2014 Moderator Share Posted January 18, 2014 Try Unetbootin. It's very very simple.
Leif
What is the difference between Unetbootin and Pen drive?
Mindovermaster Moderator Posted January 18, 2014 Moderator Share Posted January 18, 2014 I'm not at all sure, but unetbootin puts a form of a bootloader in it. Not just the ISO.
Leif
Oddly using the unetbootin method I am now receiving an error that "no operating system was found" on the USB
Leif
I tried the pendrive method again and it worked. I redownloaded the ISO and I reformatted the USB stick from within the pendrive app and I was able to boot into Kubuntu this time without errors. Either I had a faulty ISO or the format of the drive fixed the issue, or both. Either way, the issue has been solved. Thanks!
