A two-year-old was hurt after razor blades were placed on playground equipment at Millennium Park in East Moline.

A police department spokesman said police found several razor blades glued to various pieces of equipment at the park, at 5101 Archer Drive, just before 1 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014.

“Officers collected the razor blades and other evidence,” according to a statement from East Moline Police Captain John Reynolds.

Reynolds said a two-year-old child was injured.  The child’s mother says he will be okay.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Capt. Reynolds at (309) 752-1552 or Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities at (309) 762-9500.

Ignoring my spelling abilities, I read the headline as if a bunch of gaming laptops were found...

Complete idiots!!!!!!

Whoever did this is not an idiot; they knew exactly what they are doing. What they ARE, is evil sacks of crap, and when they're caught, will be having a fun time once their fellow inmates find out what they did...

Is this actually confirmed? Back when i was playing in playgrounds (early 80's :p) this was always one of those folklore tales told by older kids to scare the younger kids. If i recall rightly, no razors were ever found.

I read about this last week sometime and saw photos. While the photos could have been staged, there were definitely razors glued on to playground equipment. There are some truely terrible people out there.

I bet that when they are caught and dumped in jail, other inmates will use razor blades to torture them! Not too cruel a punishment considering what they did, but it's a start.

These pictures circulated on Facebook a few weeks ago, where someone claimed they were taken in Denmark.

Nothing new, this used to happen in my local park (in the UK) when I was just a young lad (some 40 years ago /oldfart )

Some idiots used to place razor blades in the joints between the parts of the large metal slide in the play area.

I heard about it and always checked first, don't remember if anyone got hurt.

Incase anyone is still wondering.  This has been confirmed as to happen here in Chicago, and it was reported on all network stations.
I will be glad to see this jackalope off the street.
