Net neutrality law adopted by EU Parliament

Recommended Posts

The European Parliament has voted to restrict internet providers's ability to charge data-hungry services for faster network access.

Some operators have said the move would hinder their efforts to manage traffic.

The "net neutrality" proposal would put the EU at odds with the US, where video streaming service Netflix is paying the country's biggest cable firm for better data delivery.

Sweet :D Was afraid this would fail. We have net neutrality in NL and it's been under fire quite a bit recent years. Now it has the EU backing it <3

It's sad that the moron in Washington can't pass something simple that enforces net neutrality, and it's BOTH parties that are at fault here, the party in the majority is making no effort at all to get a bill passed, the other side has no real say in it with the majority they have

Another reason why the UK is better off in the EU.

Was thinking the exact same thing. We'd never get laws like this passed in the UK. Thank goodness for the EU.
