+Warwagon MVC Posted July 15, 2014 MVC Share Posted July 15, 2014 Not sure if this is intended or not but using IE on my couch computer, and also being reproduced on a clean never used for any web browsing machine ... I got this popup ad from on Neowin using IE.

+Warwagon MVC Posted July 15, 2014 Author MVC Share Posted July 15, 2014 Try logging in. Yes, I know logging in gets rid of ads. I just wanted to make sure they intend on on popups. in the past advertisers have started popups without Neowin wanting them.
Max Norris
Installing an OS on a new build here earlier this morning and fired up Chromium as a test, got that same obnoxious full screen popup too. Don't remember if it was logged in at the time or not, probably not. Thought I remember one of the admins saying they didn't tolerate that sort of ad though, but *shrug* not positive. +Warwagon MVC Posted July 15, 2014 Author MVC Share Posted July 15, 2014 It's that the top bar of the ad looks fishy. It looks like said advertiser just popups it up and just ads the domain name into the ad.

Why can't advertisers behave for once?
Brian M. Veteran Posted July 15, 2014 Veteran Share Posted July 15, 2014 As far as I know, these ads only pop up like this if you hover over the flash block for more than a second or so. Was that the case?

Was that the case? Nope. Just open Neowin.net in IE not signed in and see what happens. See if u can reproduce it.
