francescob
What is happening? First MKV support and now this? Did somebody from Microsoft go on a forum-reading rampage? Anyway as long as they keep out setups with "bundled software" and also allow configuring setup settings I'm all for it. FTA: This package manager is called OneGet, and is shipping as part of PowerShell. In a blog post titled ?My little secret : Windows PowerShell OneGet? over at Technet, Microsoft?s Garret Serack explains: ?OneGet is a unified interface to package management systems and aims to make Software Discovery, Installation and Inventory (SDII) work via a common set of cmdlets (and eventually a set of APIs). Regardless of the installation technology underneath, users can use these common cmdlets to install/uninstall packages, add/remove/query package repositories, and query a system for the software installed. Included in this CTP is a prototype implementation of a Chocolatey-compatible package manager that can install existing Chocolatey packages.? http://www.howtogeek.com/200334/windows-10-includes-a-linux-style-package-manager-named-oneget/ BTW Since they're on a streak already they might as well add SRT support, a desktop PDF reader, RAR/7z unpacking, an ISO creating tool, FLAC support and the bajillion other things people still complain about daily. Farchord
That's kinda cool.... I like that! As long as it's hardened, it looks like a very good idea.

LimeMaster
Windows 10 is shaping up to be an awesome OS. :) Can't wait to see what other hidden gems get uncovered in these early builds.
123456789A
I sure hope it includes one. Would be nice to put in the tracking numbers and have Windows notify me that my UPS package has arrived. That's kinda cool.... I like that! As long as it's hardened, it looks like a very good idea. Agreed. It should allow us to flag a package to require a signature. yxz and Raa 2 Share
Max Norris
About bloody time -- they've incorporated one for the development environments way back but this is a much needed thing.. obviously can't cover everything (namely most commercial third party software/games/etc) but for the "usual desktop stuff" it'll be pretty handy. Been a few third party attempts but something backed by Microsoft will (hopefully) drive the point home.
Dick Montage
BTW Since they're on a streak already they might as well add SRT support, a desktop PDF reader, RAR/7z unpacking, an ISO creating tool, FLAC support and the bajillion other things that 8 people still complain about daily.
