Meko Mimi
I'll be buying my first DSLR this week after I receive my bonus. My eyes are set over the Pentax K-50 for P24,999 ($555). Actually, I was going for the Canon 700D or Nikon D5200 which is around $622 but due to budget, I have to spend lesser for the DSLR Anyway, Pentax K-50 has many nice feature.- Weather-Sealed Body and Lens- 11 AF Points, 9 Cross Types- 51200 Max ISO and 6000 Max Shutter Speed- Focus Peaking (As I understand, you can check what your camera is focusing by scrolling the front dial) - Front and Rear e-Dial - Pentaprims Viewfinder (100% Coverage) - Etc, etc, etc. I don't mind the 16MP sensor, for me it will do a good job. Since this DSLR is the upgrade for the K-30, the quality of the images taken we're alike. Does anyone with a K-30 or K-50 share their image samples taken from their own gear? It would be a great help so I can see the quality of this camera. Regards!
chrisj1968
well its great for your starting out, provided you are starting out. I started on a rebel xti years ago. then moved to a Canon 5D MarkII. But i see no reason to move to the 5D Mark III. Nikon has a 30+ MP DSLR for between 2-3 grand. sorry I'm just rambling on. Had a dilenma over the D5200, 700D and this one. I just got caught by it's Weather Resistant body and lens. Bad luck over the plastic mount on the Kit Lens. chrisj1968
the cheaper systems aren't watertight. kind along the lines of "you get what you pay for". this is probably one way they offer cheaper cameras as they do.
Draconian Guppy
There was a review over at dpreview where they test the water resistance of each camera (Don't remember if it was dpreview.com though). IMO what pentax has going for them is that every single lens that they have made is compatible with their modern cameras.
