Holographic Cortana Persona in Microsoft HoloLens

With Microsoft's latest groundbreaking hardware device HoloLens, Cortana should be presented in her true, actual holographic persona as shown in Halo videogames. Her persona as a blue circle in Windows makes sense due to the absence of a 3D presentation within a 2D environment.

 

Microsoft HoloLens allows this barrier be a thing of the past. Cortana is Microsoft's latest hero and she should be treated as such.

This will be cool, the holo stuff, if Microsoft doesn't abandon it (for whatever reason)...especially if it makes it to mainstream (i.e. consumers).  The next few years will be interesting watching as this develops and matures.

Can you touch her?

I imagine you could scale her to the size you need her to be. Remember in the HoloLens promotional video, the guy expands the video to a slightly larger size to make more efficient use of space? In the above mockup, it makes sense that she's on the table, but she could stand to be a little bigger.

 

No, you can't touch her. You could put your finger or hand in her holographic space and she might react, but you'd have no tactile feedback. What you might be able to do is augment her likeness onto your girlfriend. And maybe your girlfriend has a HoloLens and augments Master Chief's likeness onto you. Or maybe she's a Zelda fan and makes you Link.
