Assassin's Creed Unity's latest patch is delayed on PC

The latest patch for Assassin's Creed Unity which unlocks game content preciously walled behind a companion mobile app and the Assassin's Creed Initiates website is delayed on Windows PC, Ubisoft confirmed today through the official Assassin's Creed Twitter account.

Earlier in the week the developer announced it would be unlocking the exclusive content across all platforms by Feb. 19. The company has since stated: "The release of Patch 5 for PC has been delayed, we will have more news on this soon."

Ubisoft had launched the Assassin's Creed Unity Companion app for Android and iOS last year, alongside the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One game. Ubisoft blocked access to certain rewards in the console and PC game, including in-game currency and outfits for protagonist Arno, forcing players to use the app to unlock them. That meant certain chests would appear in Unity's version of Paris, but many players couldn't open them.

Some content was also locked behind the Assassin's Creed Initiates website. When the developer put that website into "a continued state of maintenance" at Christmas, Ubisoft unlocked that content to all online players.

The patch has already rolled out to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. You can check out a full breakdown of everything included in the patch here.

This is old news. The patch is already out. It was released on consoles the 18th, announced as delayed for PC on the 19th, then released yesterday on the 20th.

I was in the AC Initiates alpha last year -- it was ambitious as hell, and had some really great ideas.  I haven't been able to connect in months.

Edit: Still can't get used to 2015 -- was in the alpha in Fall 2013.
