Uncle Bill
I have Windows 7 installed on drive C: which is an SSD. To decrease "wear" I've symbolic linked the Windows User folder to partition B: on my HDD. B: is small and that is all it is used for. This has been working fine. I use Norton Ghost to image C: & B: When I restore an earlier Ghost image of C:, I naturally also restore the B: counterpart. My issuse: Unless I remember to grab a copy of my Chrome Bookmarks, I loose recent changes since B: is restored. To avoid this, I thought I would set a file symbolic link to another HDD partition D: where I store my data. My Problem: Chrome loads and appears to work fine. Bookmark changes are reflected in the interface (additions and deletions). When I Exit Chrome and the Restart Chrome, my changes are gone....no longer in interface nor Bookmarks file. It appears that the nested symbolic link is the issue. I've tried a symbolic link using the C: path and the B: path. Behavior is the same. Anyone think they have a solution? Or an alternative idea? Thanks in advance.
Anibal P
Why not just let Chrome sync like it should? All you do is login to your Google account and it's all there
