jakem1
I wish they'd focus on fixing the issues with YouTube rather than wasting time on this kind of thing. The first few seconds of every YT video I watch is spent wasting time clicking on numerous buttons just to get the right resolution, turn off those ridiculous annotations and lately to stop that stupid autoplay option. It's probably the most frustrating, poorly designed website I have to deal with. kozukumi, Nogib, robertwnielsen and 4 others 7 Share
Nick H. Supervisor Posted May 13, 2015 Supervisor Share Posted May 13, 2015 Since Google owns Youtube it's not too surprising, although I completely agree with jakem1 that they really have better things to be working on.

I don't mind the autoplay bit but I believe there's addons for most major browsers to kill that.. yea should probably be added as an option. LaP
Thanks but I don't log in to Google sites (and shouldn't have to just to get the basics working properly). Wait you don't want to log on a web site to set your prefered default options and you then complain that the default default options are not what you would like them to be ... It's 2015 logging in to a web site to save your options is a common practice. By common i mean pretty much all web sites does it. I presonally WANT the auto playback I don't want to push a button to play a video everytime i open one. I also want non HD by default as it doesn't matter much unless i'm watching a video at full screen and everytime i go full screen youtube switch to HD by default. The basic IS working properly. It's just not working like you would want it to work. Hedon and Praetor 2 Share

Wait... you don;t want to log in to have the site the way YOU want it? Well my heart bleeds for you, i think you'll find you're not the only youTube user in the world. Yes, it does have issues that need looking in to, but your personal setup opinions aren't them.

I don't think you know what autoplay he means. it's the annoying one where instantly after your video is over, google plays the next video in the automated playlist it created based on you watching this video(well yeah sure it gives you a few seconds). if you don't pay attention and go to read the description for some extra info or read/posts some comments "BAM" youtube has just forwarded you to another page to play the next video in it's auto playlist.... Not sure why they even have the option, NO ONE likes it, EVERYONE turns it off when they know how, and it's just plain annoying. the worst part is they copied it from every news site in the worlds who recently "upgraded" their video players to add these auto play functions that automatically play the next video in their list, of course they give you between 0 and 5 seconds after the video ends before instantly playing it. everyone hates that to. The ones focusing on changing fonts are not the ones that can fix complicated issues. So, it's not a waste of time.

I believe Google has a lot of people working on different aspects concerning YouTube and other services. Its not like there is one team that said "hey, lets put everything else on hold to change the font"
