Saadu
Hi, I have a few home movies from vacations and holidays that I would like to share with my folks privately. When I upload to youtube, the algorithm there blocks my videos saying I have copyrighted content in there such as music and tracks. Is there somewhere else I can upload these videos to without running into this issue? These are typically 1-2 hr long home movies. My folks have bad internet connection which means I cannot send them even a 400mb file to download and except that they will get it without loosing connection. What are my options? Could always encode it. I re-encode 500mb files constantly, and drop them down to 100mb - 200mb. Another option is setting up a torrent client, and seeding it. They could get it downloaded over time. I do this with a friend of mine in Alaska. She lives in a crappy part of the state, sled dogs to town style.
manroweb
Dropbox or similar and let the client download on their end no matter how small. You could also use Bittorent sync v2 which would be peer to peer.

The OP stated that his parents had a connection that wasn't stable, thus any file size could be a problem. Second option is by far more viable than the first. You can set the piece size downloads to 64kb, 128, 256, etc. Thus making the download easier.

Ironman273
I had a videographer friend make a video for my 40th birthday that included some music. I posted it to YouTube so people could see it and I got the copyright warning. I just replied that it was fair use and they reinstated the audio. It was a 5-10 minuted video, not 1-2 hours, but it was easy to challenge with fair use. BinaryData 1 Share
DJGM
The OP could always copy the videos to a flash drive or burn them to DVD, and send them the via post if internet connectivity is an issue for his folks.
