Ironman273
I'm going to be travelling overseas with an international plan that charges per minute for calls. I was hoping there was a way to turn off all incoming calls and have them go straight to voicemail. I know I can just ignore the phone and/or turn off the ringer, but I don't want to accidentally pick up a call that's ringing. It could be a costly mistake! Hopefully this way I can make outgoing calls when I need to and not be bothered by incoming calls. fahidhasan 1 Share

Turn the phone off until you are ready to make a call, then turn it on to make a call. fahidhasan 1 Share

Ironman273
Well, I need to be able to receive texts (which are free), which is why I asked for a way to stop incoming calls only, not turn off the cell radio. fahidhasan 1 Share
TAZMINATOR
Well contact your provider to block the calls for temporarily before you go overseas... or you can make your own recorded greeting for voice mail to let the callers know that you are not able to take the calls during that time. The text messages go through the data plan or wifi.. no problem. fahidhasan 1 Share
Tha Bloo Monkee
Never tried it but found this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=toolbox.m.incoming.stop&hl=en
jnelsoninjax
Depending on the make/model of your phone there could be a blocking mode option, my Samsung has it and it can be customized to block all calls, or incoming calls, and it also allows a list of authorized callers. fahidhasan 1 Share
Roger H. Veteran Posted June 14, 2015 Veteran Share Posted June 14, 2015 Just set call forwarding to forward all calls to voicemail before you leave. That way calls dontnget routed to the international tower then back to local which would charge you for the calls to voicemail. xendrome and fahidhasan 2 Share
deni88
Look at your Call Settings. Maybe there's a command for you to block incoming calls.

You will just won't see any notifications when someone is calling/texting you except it's a favorite contact.
PGHammer
Actually, YouMail (cost - none) blocks incoming calls by default (unless I actually answer a call, it goes straight to voicemail) - which is why I recommend it for any MVNO - and especially Tracfone.
