EA Executive Inadvertently Reveals Xbox One Sales Numbers.

And they're not pretty compared with Sony's Playstation. Now we know why Microsoft has been so coy about revealing them.

During a third quarter earnings report call, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen may have revealed sales numbers that Microsoft has being doing its best to hide.

2015 was a solid year for Sony, with the PlayStation 4 now in nearly 36 million households the world over. They had a pretty amazing Christmas, and their pace shows no signs of slwoing. Microsoft, on the other hand, has been very reticent disclosing regarding their own performance, despite assertions that they’re doing better than the previous generation at the same point in the console’s lifespan.

But the chief financial officer at Electronic Arts may have spilled the beans. Claiming approximately 55 million consoles have been sold between the Xbox One and Playstation 4, that leaves only 19 million Xbox Ones after counting the 36 million Playstation 4s.

It’s not hard to see why Microsoft’s Xbox division would want to keep quiet about sales numbers that put Sony’s console ahead of theirs, by nearly two times the sales.
