How to clear notification area history?

Recommended Posts

If you go to Taskbar and Start Menu Properties and enable Hide Inactive Icons, then the Customize button becomes Enabled. On clicking it, I get a list of all icons that were ever present on my Notification Area. Specially annoying are the listing for files I downloaded using GetRight. Does anyone know how to clear this list?

Found it

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify

Delete "IconStreams" and "PastIconsStream" and you have to restart explorer. Either by logging off/restarting or manually ending and restarting explorer.exe in task manager.

Fresh and new

:s worked fine for me.

End explorer, open regedit.exe from the task manager and delete both those values. Then restart explorer from the task manager.

Edit, here, cleaned again:
