Hey all. I was just wondering if this is possible:

when I double click an album in the grid view it starts playing (and loads up the tracks) but can I get foobar to send the current tracks enqued to play to the left pane (where 'Default' is located)?

It would be a lot easier to flick through tracks this way. I'd appreciate it :)

Switched over from my simple columns ui setup to a simple default UI setup.

Using foo_facets component for the columns/search on the left, foo_simplaylist, and foo_quicksearch set to inline search of active playlist, working wonderfully :)

That looks great. I personally can't seem to get things like that done with FB2k. Hell, I can't even get Album art working.

The above took me just a few minutes :). The album art/playlist layout is just the default look of simplaylist: http://www.hydrogena...showtopic=88411

To make the layout I just used the default ui's live editing mode. added a few splitters and elements, tweaked it a bit and bam :)

I exported that layout if you want to try it, just make sure you have the following components installed and then go into the settings and import the .fth file:

simplaylist and simplaylist manager:

Here's a screen and no album art:

Edit:

Got it. I had to tell Fb2k where the cover was even though it's in the same folder. Go figure.

Is all of your album art named consistently? All I do is put the album art as "folder.jpg" in the album folder and foobar automatically picks it up (this works with most other media players too). by default in foobar it will automatically pick up:

front.jpg

cover.jpg

%filename%.jpg

%album%.jpg

folder.jpg

You can add more search patterns in preferences > display > album art

Yes. They are all named cover.jpg. All the albums are in their own folder so it shouldn't have been an issue. What version of Fb2k are you running? I'm on 1.1.13.

1.1.14, but this has always worked for me with foobar, some of my album art is named cover.jpg too and they also work fine. My music is organized the same way yours is. Mine actually seems to be picking up any .jpg files in the album folder actually, I ran a search and I found a few cover images that weren't named cover, folder, or front and they still display fine.

What search patterns are listed on your foobar install under preferences > display > album art > front cover?

A little help with album art needed I've tried everything i could think of but is there any script i could add here to point the viewer to any file name with "front" in it?

am using columns ui.

Note the setting, "Built-in foobar2000 artwork reader mode". By default, Columns UI uses the built-in artwork reader, so there should be no need to configure this. Just try using a wildcard, e.g. "path\front*".

    • Microsoft releases Visual Studio Code 1.124 with smarter autonomous AI agents by Paul Hill Microsoft has just released Visual Studio Code 1.124 with a focus on faster agent workflows and improved agent autonomy. Microsoft outlined the following features as the key items in this update: Autopilot: Autopilot, enabled by default, is now smarter to determine when a task is truly done. Background sessions: Quickly send a request in the background and keep composing the next session. Session navigation: Search, jump, and step through agent sessions with the keyboard. Browser history: Revisit and search pages you've already opened in the integrated browser. With VS Code 1.124, Microsoft has enabled Autopilot by default. For those that don’t know, Autopilot is a chat permission level that you can pick to give agents permission to take initiative and act autonomously, without needing explicit user approval for each action. Also related to Autopilot, Microsoft introduced Advanced Autopilot, which changes how Autopilot decides when to keep iterating and when to finish. This helps you get more complete results without manually monitoring loops. This feature works using a small utility model that reads a transcript of the chat and decides when the task is done. Another new feature in 1.124 is the Agents window, which lets you easily explore, iterate on, and review agent sessions across projects and machines. Previously, starting a new agent session meant waiting for it to load before you could compose the next one. With this update, sessions can be requested in the background. This VS Code update also brings session navigation updates to switch between them more quickly. The update also lets you reload or reopen the Agents window so that it no longer loses your layout, so you will land back where you left off. If you use the integrated browser in VS Code, you will notice that it now retains the history of visited pages. Suggestions will now show when typing in the URL bar and can be managed by using Ctrl+H within a browser tab. The browser now also lets you customize the toolbar more; just right-click on the toolbar area to the right of the URL input. Finally, the browser has faster agentic text entry. Another improvement is experimental enterprise-managed Copilot plugin policies that allow admins to centrally control which chat plugins and plugin marketplaces are available to developers. If you have VS Code installed, 1.124 should install automatically, or you'll get a prompt. If you don't have it installed, get it here.
