I agree, JBuilder Personal is a nice way to get into learning Java. Either that or the Java SDK and notepad...

Try Forte , you can download it from Suns webby (javasoft.com)

the community edition is free and has all the features you could want along with being fairly easy to use

Forte and netbeans etc seem very slow because they are built in java... also, i had some trouble figuring them out.

Is Jbuilder the best? Where can i find a tutorial on using the IDE. i know java.sun.com has programming tutorials.

For c/C++ i use .NET

Try the free, open-source Eclipse IDE from eclipse.org

Which IDE you like is really a personal choice, but I've tried 'em all and found Eclipse to be the best... plus they have a Linux and Windows version... I like the fact that I can use one IDE for both platforms.
