Evanescence new Album?

Recommended Posts

they are now in the comercial music coil where artist doesnt wait to refinate a possible future project and, like another memeber here said, just release quick albums with impressive comercial hookups to impress the gullible masses  I am truly dissapointed to see this band in that downward spiral now, but I am not impressed, this is not unexpected.

Thank God for Lacuna Coil.

Unfortunately people don't know the full story. Amy Lee wasn't happy at all with the outcome of the album. Infact, she was terrified to the fact that people would take it as mainstream. Her major worry, due to the fact that her record label and her band just took over.

I wouldn't go pointing any fingers to the style of music, until you hear her latest album. As the latest album IS hers, has her decisions and her style. Only then should people decide whether Evanesence are poo poo

Anyways, there's a little background history from her most revealing interview to Kerrang Magazine :p

She can say a lot of things just to give herself a "good" reason, but we are not here to judge that since they have the benefit of the doubt, something I cant debate even if I want. My point is, that IMO, Fallen was indeed part of her, in her effort to bring Doom rock into mainstream but of course, it was heavily modified to make it palatable to the masses, the 2002 Demo was supposed to be not the demo, but the master (and thats a fact) still I consider Fallen to be a good album because it was refinated through the years (those songs are older than you can imagine) and now she is going to dismiss that method and instead they are now really into the mainstream music game.

Something that no one can debate is the fact that only the albums that stand the test of time are those that where refinated and prepared AND matured with time, like the good wines.

I'll make a judgement when I can actually hear some of the new music. To say its going to come out a certain way, or pretending to know how a certain artist works is just so far off base. Some bands out there take years to write things, to refine them. But let's not forget the great songs and albums simply written on a whim, a drunken binge, or some drug related vision. There's no set guidelines or facts that define an album standing the test of time, by any means. There's also been many cases of the exact opposite being true, where bands have gone back over the years to refine what they've done, only to destroy it. I'll trust the artist to do what they think is right, until they've proven they can't be trusted otherwise (Axl Rose comes to mind as someone to highly doubt) Its all merely speculation at this point. Nothing more.

Its not the same to make a come back that a necesary break for a new album since the time taken in the come back is not necesarily used to prepare the new music. and yes, I agree about your "drunken, drugged" line, but then its like you are saying that those visions are just written into a song and thats it, when in reality its a more delicate process, if you just take a look into the many interviews with the many artist that made the immortal classics of today you surely will agree with me in this one.

Also, we cant forget that Evanescence took a "nu-metalish" approach to his Doom rock music, that IMO is not a good thing, I just can guess that its still the same, now, whats my point about this? well, I know I am biased, but I am almost 100% sure that no nu-metal effort made or to be made its going to stand the test of time, while its a good music to listen for a while it doesnt have the mastery that other rock generes offer (and please, dont mention record slaes since they dont mean anything).

Sadly, record sales are massively important to bands today. They mean the difference between getting out there and having their message heard, or fading into the darkness. That's just a fact. You aren't going to reach a broad audience without good radio play, or record sales. I can't count how many good bands have died because they couldn't get the time of day from a label. Of course things have changed alot more with the digital medium. Anyone can put themselves out there to a vast audience. And still, many of those bands go nowhere.

I think where Evanescence went was the right thing for them. The fact that they kept refining their music seemed to me was for the purpose of having broader appeal, to get themselves noticed. Isn't that what being "in a band" is about? The glory, the money, the fame. I don't mean to stomp all over the creative process / creative release by any means though. I think they have the potential to stand the test of time, and to really expand upon what they already have. There's hints of what they are capable of all over their past and present material. I think while trash like Linkin Park, LostProphets, and others of their type will fade in a few years, Evanescence will be around quite a bit longer.

Isn't that what being "in a band" is about? The glory, the money, the fame.

I think I cant debate anymore since I am extremely touchy about music, but thats exactly what I hate, bands that are in the business just for glory, money and fame and no because the love for the sacred art of music, so I dont want to have a conflict here with you since I respect you a lot as a member, I like most of your ideas.

Also, I am sorry, but do you really think that making music palatable to the masses its the only way to make money? Take a look at Tool, maybe the best band we are going to see ever, they dont sell that many albums and still its the second band that makes more money in the world and still they are masters in the use of intelligence in music, truly inspirational.

    • This Dell 27 inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor is really cheap after a very long time by Sayan Sen Recently we covered a really good deal on an AMD RX 9070 three-fan model that's available at slightly above its MSRP. If you are looking for a GPU for 1440p gaming that's around the performance of the Nvidia RTX 5070 you should most definitely check it out. Let's say that you are looking for a monitor to pair that up with too. The Samsung 49" G9 curved QD-OLED superultrawide is a good option that can provide an immersive experience. However despite being a very good deal currently (at $855), it may seem unaffordable to you, or you may simply not want to spend as much on a monitor. In that case Dell's S2725QS can be a very good option as it's on sale at the moment for its lowest price in over six months (purchase link under the specs table down below). The big highlight of the Dell S2725QS is its 27-inch IPS panel with a 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD) resolution, offering a high pixel density that can make text appear sharper while also providing plenty of screen space for productivity and media consumption. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz through both HDMI and DisplayPort, making it suitable not only for everyday desktop use but also for smoother gaming and scrolling. AMD FreeSync Premium support is included as well, helping reduce screen tearing during gaming sessions. The screen has fairly good brightness and color accuracy so you can use it for general work purpose, though photo/video editing is probably not going to be the best match for this. The technical specs of the Dell S2725QS are given in the table below: Specification Value Viewable Screen Size 27 in (68.58 cm) Screen Mode 4K UHD Maximum Resolution 3840 × 2160 Maximum Preset Resolution 3840 × 2160 @ 120 Hz Standard Refresh Rate 120 Hz Panel Technology In-plane Switching (IPS) Backlight Technology LED Edgelight System Pixel Density 163 PPI Response Time 8 ms GTG, 5 ms GTG, 4 ms GTG Horizontal Viewing Angle 178° Vertical Viewing Angle 178° Brightness 350 cd/m² (nits) Native Contrast Ratio 1500:1 Color Support 1.07 Billion Colors Color Gamut 99% sRGB (CIE 1931) Adaptive Sync AMD FreeSync Premium HDCP Support Yes Mount Type Panel Mount VESA Mount 100 × 100 mm Maximum Height Adjustment 13 cm Tilt -5° to 21° Swivel -30° to 30° Pivot ±90° Stand Adjustments Tilt, Swivel, Height, Pivot Glass Hardness 3H Horizontal Frequency 27–270 kHz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Vertical Frequency 48–120 Hz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Video Inputs 2 × HDMI 2.1 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3), 1 × DisplayPort 1.4 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3) Operating Temperature 0°C to 40°C Storage Temperature -20°C to 60°C Operating Humidity 10%–80% (Non-condensing) Storage Humidity 5%–95% (Non-condensing) Get it at the link below: Dell S2725QS 27-inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor: $218.49 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US) (Was: $280) Good to know This Amazon deal is U.S. specific, and not available in other regions unless specified.
