Pres. Bush Crazy

Giving away 51.8 Billion dollars just for the katrina victims is too much.I think that he is giving too much money too fast.he should wait untill everyone is evacuated and the nasty water is cleaned up first. Then use the money to rebuild the city.

Uh, a bipartisan US Congress passed the bill.

".... overwhelming, bipartisan support for the measure ? it passed 411-10 in the House and 97-0 in the Senate...."

Bipartisan and Bush are not synonymous.

Maybe you should look at his history as governor of Texas. I'm not an American nor do I agree with Bush on everything but I really hate it when people spread FUD.

I see nothing fearful, uncertain or doubtful in my post. Why do you accuse me of spreading "FUD?"

And I'm very well aquainted with our Commander in Chief's personal history, job history and credentials, thank you very much.

Regardless of political stripe, sending huge amounts of money makes all politicians look compassionate to their constituents, whether or not they actually agree with the bill.

You're 13... right? You want those people to just sit there, and hope everything gets better?

Like it was said earlier, stop using Bush as a copout for everything the federal government does that you don't like. Bush is not the leader of the world. Congress is much more powerful than him.

I agree with the money spent, as it is going to be necessary in the long (and short term) of the problems people are facing in LA atm.

BUT.

I am realy realy tired of folks saying Bush doesnt hold some responsibility here. We hold the LEADERS of other nations responsible for decisions involving thier nations/governements to task for mistakes made. Only here, in the USA, is it ok to pass the buck on a continuous basis, for mistakes made at the highest levels of Government. Say what you will, Bush ****ed up, and as such, should be told so. I do not deny that State and Local officials could have done more, but in the end, when the Man with the frigging whip (Bush), leader of the most powerful nation on the Planet, doesnt put those folks to task, and in motion, who exactly should/will we hold responsible?

I dont want repercussions now, but definatley feel the "Oh, it was bad intell, it was not recieving good info on time...it was people not asking for help soon enough, it was those folks who didnt evacuate in time...." so on and so forth, is down right horse poop when it comes time to "asess the blame" in the delay for support and relief in the area. Say what you will about it being a Democrats trying to make Bush look bad......he did that all on his own this time, and trying to shrug it off, or say it cant be layed (partially in the least, seriously in the worst) at his feet is simply sad, and misguided, as well as hugely and mistakenly one sided politics where all we care about is how our President looks when he handles a national disaster in a ****ty manner.

exactly. it's not like the situation has gotten better lately. ALOT of financial help is needed, plus food and watersupplies and whatsoever. i don't think you are the one to judge about the financial help given to now homeless people. nor am i.

Considering damages are probably well over $100 bln this is just a get started fund. They have a whole city and a ton of rural areas to rebuild.

Btw. He's spend many many times more on iraq since end of combat (and tons on combat).
