nl|nighthawk
Dont know, never had the problem.. If I try to install Mandrake 8.1, or 8.2, setup goes weird when trying to configure X Server.. it locks up or the display goes funky.
lisagauss
try removing any hardware you may have that you think may not be compatible with mandrake. I have two pc's, a custom made amd athlon xp 1800 with nice video card and everything, then i have an old compaq presario from 2-3 years ago...Mandrake 8.1 will not install on my custom made pc, it gives me some error that it cannot copy files, but it will install nicely on my comapq...i have it dual booting right now actually with windows 2000. Anyways, i think that i could be a hardware issue, who knows. never bothered trying to remove any hardware to see if it was that, but i mean maybe you can try it.....good luckk!! :ninja:

mezz
Have you disable the PnP (Play-n-Plugin) in the BIOS, yet? Also, disable the automatic IRQ in the BIOS. They both are total useless. These day, OSs can do it by themselves.
MulletRobZ
Just get Mandrake 9.0 off the Internet! It has the best hardware support yet and it's just about ready to replace Windows completely. All one would need is a decent P2P program and get more attention from the other manufacturers who make Windows/Mac only programs.
