brn2prgrm
This took me a Long time to find... :p I believe he means purchasing the Apple DVD-R in packs of more than 5. Im guessing Apple only ships them in packs 5 and you won't find them differently at other stores. The thing is, the Apple DVD-R's are just standard, rebranded Pioneer DVD-R OEM media, so you could buy them in packs of 10 for $40 at http://www.supermediastore.com/pion47dvblan.html or you could get some universal dvd-r's for cheap at http://www.buy-dvd-r.com but no matter where you get them, make sure you get A-grade type, and not the other icky stuff. You can email me, im me, whatever, if you have any questions! :)
Tim Dorr Veteran Posted November 16, 2002 Veteran Share Posted November 16, 2002 Smple question: How do you idenitfy A-grade types of media? And I see they have a new box for the discs :) I like it :D
brn2prgrm
Smple question: How do you idenitfy A-grade types of media? And I see they have a new box for the discs :) I like it :D A-Grade media is usually found in the big names like Pioneer and TDK, if it's not a brand name disc then it should say specifically A-Grade media. The reason I stress this is because B-Grade media usually only has a 1:3 successful burn ratio where A-Grade is 1:1. The reason for this is because things like cheap die, or just cheaply printed layers cause the data to be corrupt easily. Also back to lilsnoop... If your not sure about compatibility on the Universal DVD-R's then check out http://dvd-r.safewebshop.com/testresult.htm and see if your drive is listed. If not, don't worry, the Universal DVD-R's are 97% compatible with dvd players. I remember there's a forum somewhere where people could post their dvd player and what discs are compatible with it. I'll look for it or hopefully someone else knows what im talking about.
brn2prgrm
Found it: http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php You can search by dvd player or if your inclined to buy a new player you can search by supported formats, very handy and complete! :)
