+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted December 10, 2006 Subscriber² Share Posted December 10, 2006 Square Enix Senior Vice President of Software Development, Hiromichi Tanaka, discussed the recently released Final Fantasy III. The game has sold 99% of its shipment in Japan so far, making it a very successful title. And the demand is much higher than the supply. After all this success, Square Enix is definitely looking at the whole remake business in a better light. This is the first time for this game to come to the US. Alongside the plans for FFV and FFVI, we'll soon have seen remakes of every classic FF game. Where do you go from here? Tanaka: FFIV, V and VI have been ported to the GBA. As you have seen FFIII is not a port but more of a remake. In the future, since FFIII has been received pretty well so far, we're actually considering remaking some of the other Final Fantasy games. Seeing as Final Fantasy I, II, IV, V have just been released on the Game Boy Advance, it seems unlikely that these titles will be receiving the treatment first. Maybe a Final Fantasy VII port to the DS? Or maybe the much obsessed-over Final Fantasy VII remake for the PlayStation 3? We just might find out soon enough http://ps3.qj.net/Square-Enix-considers-re...pg/49/aid/67560 More hope for those praying for an FF7 remake :D
CrimsonKnight13
An FF7 remake is what I'm hoping for after seeing the FF7 Tech Demo for the PS3 or even some other console of their choosing.
Corris Veteran Posted December 10, 2006 Veteran Share Posted December 10, 2006 A remake for Final Fantasy VII for ps3 would make the console in my opinion sell like hotcakes, I know a hell of a lot of people that would buy one for that. For me it was a perfect RPG that had great balance between story and game play, and at the time the graphics were awesome too :p I'm buying a DS just for when FF III comes out, I have all the rest, and id probably buy all the remakes too! :D Though on different note, I haven't personally bought any in my life, but do hotcakes sell well? as I'm guessing that's where the saying comes from? jimbo11883
I'd love a FFVII remake, but it has to be done perfectly to not **** off the millions of fans of the game.
-T- Member Posted December 10, 2006 Member Share Posted December 10, 2006 i guess i'm the only person that really did not like the FF series of games, i've never found them in the least entertaining. I guess a big selling game like this would do wonders for any console in JP tho, MS should look into securing rights for that heh

Ajapi
A Final Fantasy VII remake would make me buy a Playstation 3 (thought I might purchase one anyways) just like Zelda is making me buy a Wii. The work is already cut out for Square-Enix: the storyline and the fan base are there. All they need to do is redraw the whole game, use HD FMVs (hell, make some use of those fancy blu ray disks :p) and add voice overs. Heck, lip sync 'em as well. Add more mini games (geez, I loved those motorcycles and snowboarding games!)...the soundtrack was perfect, all they have to do is re-record it so we can output 5.1 or 7.1 audio...Hehe there are many things they can do to get this PERFECT, let's hope they do :D
