the evn show
provided everything is setup and installed you should just be able to: # startx I'm not sure about redhat's configuration. my understanding is that it has plenty of gui config utiltities and all sorts of programs to setup stuff for you - i could be wrong (i'm a gentoo man). karmakillernz
Since you didn't install Gnome or KDE, what window manager did you install?
mezz
Since you didn't install Gnome or KDE, what window manager did you install? It doesn't matter, you don't need the WM to get anything run. You can even use X without WM, which it's very plain. As long, you have some KDE/Gnome libraries (ie: qt/gtk/glib/etc) installed for gaim, kmail or whatever what apps you want to use. how do I run progs from there? However, let's get back to your question. If you have Mozilla installed, then all you have to do is to type "mozilla" w/out quote. It might be better idea to do "mozilla &", so you can close xterm without kill Mozilla and you can use same xterm without open multi-windows of xterm. MulletRobZ
Try upgrading to Red Hat 8.0 first.
