TED TO THE RESCUE?

Odd man out since the merger, could mediamaverick Ted Turner now be named Chairman of AOLTIMEWARNER?

"I have no idea," Turner says in coming editions of the ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION.

"Nobody has talked to me about it," said Turner, a co-vice chairman of the AOL Time Warner board. "I'm not running for anything, unlike Gephardt or Lieberman."

But Turner's status as the father of CNN and a business legend might boost his chances.

"I've had an incredible life for the most part. I made a lot of smart moves, and I made a lot of money," Turner said. "Then something happened, and I merged with Time Warner, which looked like the right thing to do at the time. And it was good for shareholders.

"But then I lost control. I thought I would have enough moral authority to have all the influence in the new company. If you go into business, be very careful with whom you merge. I thought I was buying Time Warner, but they were buying me. We had kind of a difference in viewpoint. "Then they merged with AOL, and that was a complete disaster, at least so far. I have lost 85 percent of my wealth."

how exactly did he ruin the atlanta braves?? he is the only reason they are still in atlanta...if not for him they would have moved back in the 70s or 80s...he was at almost every game and kept putting on these crazy promotions just to get fans to come to the games...weddings on the field....a tightrope walker that walked from one side of the stadiums roof to the other...an ostrich riding race in which he rode an ostrich...all his money and support finally paid off...he saved the braves...didnt ruin them...

 Well can AOL get any worse than it is now? I don't think so...So that's out of the question...and as for CNN, CNN is great. It's a great internationally organized news organization. It's probably the biggest ever. So, he's done some f-ups but hey, Who hasn't?
