Rappy kindly directed me to Brad Maddox's show on Twitter earlier. Definitely better than Zack Ryder's show, and there's a few cheeky surprises in episodes 3 & 4 (which Rappy directed me to), which are definitely NSFW...

WWE creative head Michael Hayes came up with the idea for exploiting Jerry Lawler's heart attack on RAW a couple of weeks ago. Hayes felt that the angle would get Punk super heat, and it'd carry over with non-Lawler affiliated story lines.

According to a source, Paul Heyman lobbied to have the angle changed to a slightly more tasteful version that would be more true to the Punk character. However, Hayes was said to be unrelenting in pushing his idea.

So there we go, it wasn't Vince who came up with it, it was Freebird.

With CM Punk retaining the WWE Championship against Ryback and John Cena at Survivor Series on Sunday, thereby likely solidifying an expected match with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at Royal Rumble, the sports-entertainment organization's creative team has discussed a scenario where The Straight Edge Superstar would defeat The Great One at the annual January pay-per-view event. This would subsequently lead to Punk defending the title against The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXIX, and Johnson facing Cena in a non-title re-match at the same event.

Thoughts, everyone?

At this time, the only match set for the TLC PPV is Big Show vs. Sheamus in a Chairs match for the World Heavyweight title. Here is the rumored card for the show?

* C.M. Punk vs. Ryback (Tables match for the WWE Championship)

* Kofi Kignston vs. Wade Barrett (IC title match)

* Antonio Cesaro vs. R-Truth (US title match)

* Team Hell No vs. Sin Cara & Rey Mysterio vs. Prime Time Players (Ladders match for the Tag Team Titles)

* Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio (Last Man Standing)

^ Interesting that that's posted on WWE's YouTube channel. That makes me a little bit sceptical about it. Then again, it probably wouldn't be a surprise if they've inadvertently revealed their next big feud in advance.

Oh, Botchamania 218 came out yesterday, but WMG got up to their old douchebag moves and muted the sound. Good thing there's a workaround: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou7Hd6GiE2U ;)

EDIT: OK, you'll need to copy and paste the link for it to work; clicking on the link brings it up muted.

Well Rock did reveal didn't he on Raw that he was going to face the WWE Champion at RR so it's only right for Punk to say that because he isn't losing it at TLC to Ryback in yet another match!

Copy and pasting still gives me a video with no audio :(

Hmm, weird, it worked for me on several occasions. Oh well, Maffew's already working on an altered version. The bit which WMG threw a tantrum over was the use of "F**k You" by Cee Lo Green during the CZW segment (which had clips of John Zandig spliced in).

    • Linux 7.2's first release candidate gets off to a good start by Paul Hill Credit: Larry Ewing It has been a few weeks since the release of Linux 7.1, and in that time, the Linux 7.2 merge window has been open, where developers can submit their features and patches ready for the upcoming release. That window is now shut, and the release candidate phase has begun so that new features can be tested and further fixes applied. According to the founder of Linux, Linus Torvalds, this week’s release candidate looks “reasonably normal”. Although we are super early in the release candidates, this is a good sign as it makes it more likely that an eighth release candidate will not be needed. Torvalds even mentioned that the update’s stats are only larger than they really are because there was another AMD header drop with a third of the patch just being AMD GPU register definitions, which aren’t big changes but make the code contributed look larger overall. In addition to this, he noted that just over half the patch is drivers, even when excluding the AMD register dump. The rest of the changes are spread out over architecture updates, tooling, documentation, and core kernel updates. In the next week, Torvalds says that he will be chilling out, taking the week “mostly off”. Despite this, he will be reading emails and keeping up with things, so if he is slow responding, now you know why. He said he is hoping for a calm week, but we will just have to see if the second release candidate is actually like that. We should expect seven or eight release candidates before Linux 7.2 is released, so expect it around the end of August. If you missed it a few weeks ago, be sure to check out our coverage of Linux 7.1's release.
