APM500
Hey guys, I have the 7000 build, 64-bit on an HP dv9000t laptop. I have a Plantronics 510 bluetooth headset (PLT 510). Was working fine in Vista 64-bit. Windows 7 recognizes "PLT 510" and adds the bluetooth device with no problem. However, it does not appear under "Playback devices" or "Recording devices." Integrated mic and speakers work fine. I have already checked both boxes for "Handsfree telephony" and "Headset" in the services list. I have reset the headset to no avail. Any thoughts? Summary: Bluetooth connects just fine, it won't add to audio devices.
charles48864
Was this a clean install of win7 or an upgrade.

Eric Veteran Posted February 14, 2009 Veteran Share Posted February 14, 2009 Only select one profile. In Vista my Motorola H375 only seems to work with the microphone in "Hands Free Telephony" mode. In Win7 I couldn't get it to work. :( It never gets to the point in pairing where it asks for the passkey.
APM500
I just tried un-pairing & resetting headset, so that I could try the one profile selection... Enabled discovery on headset. Re-paired headset. No problems. It showed a bubble notification with something similar to "Handsfree has been installed successfully" Still didn't appear in playback or recording devices. Unchecked "handsfree" profile and checked "headset" Again, it installed some drivers and bubble notification said "your headset has been installed successfully" Again, nothing in playback/recording devices =(
charles48864
What sound card do you have installed and have you updated the sound card drivers?
APM500
There were other problems (DVD drive not recognized, "COM Surrogate" Errors), so I just did a clean install. Fixed everything. No problems :-)
charles48864
Did you have DAEMON Tools on the other install? Seen this to cause this problem also.
ferit
Had the same problem today, coudln't figure it out, burned through minutes of airtime on cell unnecessarily. finallu got it. i had to unpluck and plug back my bluetooth adapter. it reinstalled and my headset started working. if yours is integrated you may need to switch it off and on. or uninstall and install it back.
