COLCHESTER, England, June 2 (UPI) -- A Range Rover owner dissatisfied with his $83,000 vehicle parked it outside of an English dealership with signs touting its flaws.

The driver parked the 2007 Range Rover Sport HSE outside the Lookers Land Rover showroom in Colchester with signs in its windows reading: "Problems with ... 6 front ball joints, 4 front arm bushes, new seat base, front and rear n/s struts, full n/s suspension unit, anti-roll bar bushes, air con," the Daily Mail reported Tuesday.

Showroom staff said they have no legal right to move the vehicle because it is parked on a public road outside of the dealership.

"Land Rover operates a comprehensive warranty program with, where appropriate, a strong goodwill policy," said Mark Foster, Jaguar Land Rover's corporate communications manager. "All necessary repairs to this vehicle over 42,000 miles have been carried out under warranty. However, we are disappointed this customer's ownership experience has been unfortunate and as such we have made a goodwill offer towards helping him into a new vehicle."

Ha! I bet it was a crummy offer, they always are. If he's upset enough to do that, he won't buy another one of those vehicles anyways, so why try?

I'm guessing they had him arrested - this 'new vehicle' had flashing blue lights and uniformed 'chauffeurs' armed with tasers!

Why didn't I think of this? If that's all it takes to get my lemon replaced... I'll get my camping gear and head right over to my dealer. ;)

there are a number of faults with the RRS, but the x5 also has similar faults, and the first ML had loads....
the new models, including the facelifted RRS should fix most of these problems :)

but yeah, its not right that you pay a bundle and it fails, whereas a skoda costs the same as the wheels and wont fail as much!

Whereas, Canada has prestige car brands such as ... Brooks Steam, Redpath, Tudhope, McKay, Galt Gas-Electric, Gray-Dort, Brockville Atlas, C.C.M., and McLaughlin ...

Never heard of any of them ...

Hah, that is an awesome story. I'm actually surprised it hasn't happened more often. Land Rovers' are over-priced p.o.s. as it is.

I think it is known for years now that while Range Rover and Land Rover jeeps have a long standing as tough vehicles and durability....they still have lots of complaints with electical problems & parts that wear more quickly than the japanese equivalent competition i.e example landcruiser, prado, hilux surf etc...

Toyota has better quality.

Land Rovers have been around for a very long time...a well known brand...but the quality ain't getting any better...sorry to say...but they are going the way of GM...the japanese are dominating this industry hands down....their only competition maybe the Germans with quality in some of their big brands Mercedes, BMW & Audi. VW has had it's woes.

Opel is German...

In 2009 (this year) it will be owned 35% by GM, 35% by Sberbank of Russia, 20% by Magna International of Canada, and 10% by Opel employees.

So technically it's not Canadian :p
