John Veteran Posted June 8, 2003 Veteran Share Posted June 8, 2003 why wouldn't it be? the only reason i can think that this would come up is because longhorn will probably have a new version of the .net framework, perhaps 2.0, already partially integrated... y_notm
I think that error was pretty self explanatory: Longhorn doesn't ship with the .NET framework 1.0. No windows version ships with 1.0, actually, and by the time Longhorn is finished I believe that it will include either 2.0 or 3.0. Whatever it (avalon) is now, it's not 1.0, or 1.1. NXPdev
Longhorn comes with a crazy version of .NET framework - v1.2.21213
smurfiness
If you have an app that requires the .NET Framework 1.0 and you want to run it on Longhorn and it comes with a program.exe.config file (and you know how to do a bit of XML editing), you can change the config file so that it will run on the Framework that ships with Longhorn. There's a slim chance that that will break the app however. -- Danny Smurf
