SuperKid
Hi guys, i have a android xperia x10 mini pro phone by Sony Ericsson, i recently changed my google account around and i needed to wipe my phone to change which google account my phone was tied to, so i did a factory restore on the phone and logged into my account and ever since i can't download anything from the marketplace. Im running Android 2.1 on the phone, the latest for that phone and nothing will download on it, if i load up the google talk app it just exists immediatly, how do i sign out of my google account and re-sign in? as when i try to download stuff from the marketplace it says Download was unsucessful. :s Im confused and need some help. Thanks, Matt.
Bhav
Try going into Manage Applications (through the settings menu), and clear the data and cache on all of the following: Gmail/Google Mail Gtalk/Google Talk Android Market Downloads/Download Manager And do the same for any others you think might be relevant. Then reboot your phone.
SuperKid
I go to manage applications and it says no third-party applications installed, maybe if i plug my phone in is there a folder i can delete for the marketplace or something? EDIT: Im gonna backup my numbers and try a phone restore again and see what happens, i don't have any other important data on there and not that many numbers to write down at the moment. Damien
the only way i cleared the google account from my android phone was by flashing the ROM ... :( i dont know of any other way... There was a recent update for the x10 family (not sure about other android handsets, it's worth checking out though) which introduced the Factory Data Reset (erases all data on phone) as well as the Settings Reset (resets the phone to its original settings without erasing user data). I have it on my x10 mini at the moment and I can confirm that The Factory Data Reset does indeed wipe the associated Google account, allowing a user to input a new one (or multiple Google accounts) once it is done. :)
