48-year-old former two-division champion Bernard Hopkins (53-6-2, 32 KOs) broke his own record as the oldest man to win a major world boxing championship with a twelve round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten IBF light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud (24-1, 19 KOs) before a crowd of 12,293 on Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. It was a typical slow-paced, tactical Hopkins fight full of wrestling and holding, which is just the way the sly old fox Hopkins likes it. Cloud was cut over the left eye in round six and it was ruled to be by a head butt by referee Earl Brown, however replays showed the cut came from a punch. The 31-year-old Cloud simply couldn?t figure out a way to do much to Hopkins. Scores were 116-112, 117-111, 116-112.
The day after his legendary trackdown and visit to a Twitter troll, which was followed by thousands on social media in real time, former British super lightweight champion Curtis Woodhouse was enjoying his worldwide internet celebrity status. Articles on his exploit appeared in media all over the world including The Guardian, The Mirror, Huffington Post, New York Daily News, USA Today, Daily Mail and dozens of others. He was applauded by boxers Lennox Lewis, Kell Brook, Ryan Rhodes and many others.

Apparently this troll, who has now deleted his Twitter posts, has been targeting other athletes and celebrities. The Mirror tracked him down again.

The header for Woodhouse?s Tweeter feed (which now has thousands of new followers) reads: Former pro footballer retired at 26 to try my luck in the boxing ring, in my spare time I get in my car and track down trolls!

Lightning struck twice for Tim Bradley, winning a second consecutive unpopular decision before a small but exhilarated crowd at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California, Saturday night on HBO World Championship Boxing. Bradley, (30-0, 12 KOs), and his opponent, unheralded Ruslan Provodnikov, (22-2, 15 KOs), put on a show for the ages, going toe-to-toe throughout the fight in between short stretches of high-stakes cat and mouse. The fight ended with Bradley taking a knee under withering pressure from Provodnikov, but having won enough rounds early to earn a unanimous decision by scores of 114-113, 114-113, and an unfairly wide 115-112 (eight rounds to four). Although the decision was roundly booed at ringside, Bradley did win several rounds and the overall result was not unjust.

Manny Pacquiao could face Juan Manuel Marquez in September

Former seven-weight world champion Manny Pacquiao plans to fight again in September, but not in the United States because of tax reasons.

A spokesperson for the boxer said negotiations are ongoing for a rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez, who knocked out Pacquiao in December.

Singapore, Macau and Dubai are possible venues for Pacquiao's next outing.

Pacquiao, 34, is running for re-election as a congressman in next month's Philippines mid-term elections.

"We will talk about the opponent and the place after the 13 May elections," said Rose Tamayo.

Last June, Pacquiao lost his WBO welterweight crown to American Timothy Bradley on a controversial decision before being knocked out in spectacular fashion by Marquez.

The defeats prompted calls for him to retire, but Pacquiao has consistently signalled his intention to keep on fighting.

Marquez would be the obvious opponent for his September comeback, with Pacquiao leading their four-fight series 2-1, with one fight drawn.

Yeah I did, I think that was a shock result seeing how highly rated Donaire is in Boxing at the moment

I think most of it is because he's Filipino and they're always on the lookout for the "new" Pacquiao. Still, he admitted that he didn't watch any tape on Rigondeaux, which is shocking considering that he's a straight up Cuban technical beast.

Tyson Fury: I?m in the elite level. Top of the heavyweight division. I?m looking to fight Wladimir Klitschko next time and knocking him out as well. There?s nobody that can beat me. I don?t have to trash talk anymore. I?ve done all the talking. As Steve said he?s trained really hard, which I hope he has, he?s got a great trainer, he going to get some great advice, but you know what? We have leagues for reasons. And I?m leagues above this guy and I?m going to show you that tomorrow?.if Steve Cunningham can beat me I will retire tomorrow evening or whenever it is. There?s no losing. This man cannot beat Tyson Fury. Ten men like him could not beat Tyson Fury!

Steve Cunningham: By talking that trash, that just makes me go back in the gym and work harder. I wanted to beat this guy before, but now I really want to beat him. I want to make a statement so you?re going to see the best Steve USS Cunningham tomorrow.

So Mayweather had another 12 round practice session and Klitschko stopped another waste of time pretender in 4 rounds. I'm sorry, but Boxing is just the biggest bore of sport at the moment. Champions not fighting each other. Judges screwing fighters out of victories. It's just big names making pay days for turning up to defeat useless fighters.

The next "big" fight I see for Mayweather, and it is just silly saying this, but has to be Khan. Floyd says he wants a "big" fight in the UK and it doesn't get any bigger than Khan (which just shows the sorry state of British boxing at the moment!) What's even more ridiculous is that the WBC have Khan as the number 2 contender for Floyd's title when he's never even fought at 147lbs.

And please Klitschko(s) - Just retire... Please!

Mayweather is quite possibly the greatest of all time, as we know the Pac fight will never happen so lets make Canelo vs Mayweather for September, the only real challenge left.

Mayweather will batter Khan though if that does happen which probably will if he comes to the UK

It may come as no real surprise to fight fans, but it seems Amir Khan?s days as a 140-pounder have come to an end. The former WBA/IBF light-welterweight champ, in speaking with Steve Lillis of BoxNation, said he is looking at moving up to 147 and challenging the winner of May 18th?s clash between IBF welterweight champ and British challenger (and replacement for the injured Kell Brook) Lee Purdy.

As fans may have read, Khan?s ultimate goal is a massive fight with pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Junior, and a win over Alexander or Purdy might well get Khan what he wants.

?Going up to welterweight and fighting Devon Alexander is a possibility,? Khan, who will meet with Richard Schaefer this week in L.A, told Lillis. ?It seems the fights at light-welterweight with Danny Garcia and Lamont Peterson are not getting made. I am not going to wait around for them because one day they will move up. I am getting big for the weight and I am just going to see what Richard Schaefer says when we meet.

?I could be one fight away from the Mayweather fight if things go to plan.?

If Khan does face either Alexander or Purdy next, the fight would take place in December, meaning Khan would fight Mayweather next spring at the earliest. Once again, Khan ? who was in Las Vegas last night and had predicted a win for Floyd ? repeated his belief that he has the style needed to upset ?Money.?

?To beat Floyd you have to beat him at his home game,? Khan stated. ?Box him the way he fights. You have to use speed. Of all the fighters who can face him I would have a chance because of my speed. I have got the speed and ability that can cope with him.?

Mayweather is quite possibly the greatest of all time, as we know the Pac fight will never happen so lets make Canelo vs Mayweather for September, the only real challenge left.

Is Canelo really a challenge? Every name guy he has beaten, Mayweather has beat as well. He isn't a juggernaut, he is the guy who's available.

Trout was widely regarded as the best in division until he met Canelo (granted the judges were quite biased)

Manny Pacquiao to face Brandon Rios in Macau in November

Manny Pacquiao will return to the ring after an 11-month absence when he faces Brandon Rios in Macau on 24 November.

Former seven-weight world champion Pacquiao, once rated as the best pound for pound boxer in the world, was knocked out in the sixth round by Juan Manuel Marquez in December .

In his previous fight the Philippines boxer lost his WBO welterweight title to Tim Bradley in June 2012.

Pacquiao is not fighting in the United States for tax reasons.

"People know what Rios brings to the table," Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum told ESPN.com.

"People want to see a real fight, and that is what you get with Rios. We're building a business in Macau and China and these are the kinds of fights - real action fights - that they want to see."

Former WBA lightweight champion Rios, 27, lost to Mike Alvarado at light-welterweight in his most recent bout in March.

and Klitschko stopped another waste of time pretender in 4 rounds.

6, actually, but yeah, it was pretty bad. The heavyweight division has been a joke for the past several years with the Klitschkos dominating. And we'll never get to see them face each other, so the division will never recover until they both retire. Vitali will probably retire first, and that'll allow Wladimir to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis (oh, how I long for those glory days to return :( ). Britain doesn't really have a heavyweight prospect at the moment, sadly. David Haye took on Wladimir and lost, Dereck Chisora took on Vitali, then Haye, and lost both of those. David Price lost his last fight in frankly a shock TKO to Tony Thompson back in February (the rematch is set for July 6th). And Tyson Fury is a joke. I actually want to see him get a fight with either one of the Klitschkos, so then he can finally shut up and get knocked out by them.

You know things are dire when 6 of your country's top 10 heavyweights are over 30, and 2 of them are in their 40s... :/

Early speculation has Mayweather vs Guerrero doing 'well under' one million PPV buys

Seeing how Mayweather got 30 million for that sparring session, ouch.

Yeah just read that, Showtime is going to lose heavily on this one

    • First time clicking on a Sayan Sen article after he started making clickbait, vague headlines recently. Didn't read, just came here to say the headline doesn't look like very cheap, vague clickbait this time. Are you okay?
    • Good review, and yeah the benchmark breakdown is pretty clear but also a little messy in a good way. It’s kinda interesting to see where the RX 9070 GRE slides in between the 7800 XT and the 9070 XT , especially when it comes to AI tasks and Blender style workloads. The side by side with Nvidia’s RTX 5070 and 4070 makes it feel obvious just how competitive the mid range GPU scene has gotten lately, and that’s great for creators and gamers too since you can pick based on your priorities rather than only chasing one single thing.
    • That's it. I finally uninstalled Firefox because they often keep pushing buggy updates, only to test them later and make users suffer. No longer is it my alternative browser to Edge. What a waste of energy. Firefox is bad for the environment, just like Chrome (wasting RAM/energy).

And, of course, you may find a word or two about older versions. Windows 11 version 26H2 is now official. Alongside Windows 11's new preview builds released this week, Microsoft confirmed version 26H2, which is coming later this year as an enablement package based on the same platform as versions 24H2 and 25H2. A newly published blog post details what IT admins should do to prepare for the upcoming launch. Next, we have new Windows 11 bugs. Users report that this month's security updates for Windows 11 cause all sorts of issues, including BitLocker bugs, OneDrive issues, black screens of death, and third-party integration in Office apps. Microsoft has not confirmed those yet, but it acknowledged other issues with its operating system. What Microsoft has confirmed is a bug where Recycle Bin delete prompts display internal file names instead of actual ones, and a year-old Windows JScript compatibility bug caused by security-focused engine changes. Moving to more positive news, Microsoft and Adobe are working on improving Windows performance in popular creative apps like Photoshop. Thanks to SPGO optimizations, users can expect up to 20% better performance. Finally, we have a few useful articles that can help you recover your PC or make it perform better. For one, we published a guide detailing what to do if your computer cannot boot after a clean Windows 11 install. There are two important steps you can try to get your system back to working in no time. Additionally, there is a more detailed guide on various CPU performance modes that could notably improve performance. This week, Microsoft announced its newest Surface devices powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon X2 processors. There is the 12th-gen Surface Pro and the 8th-gen Surface Laptop. Both devices feature little to no visual differences compared to their predecessors from 2024, and most changes hide inside, including a better processor, faster graphics, enhanced NPUs, and more. The Surface Laptop also received a new haptic trackpad. Mozilla is currently working on a major Firefox redesign, and earlier this week, it published a roadmap of upcoming features and highlights of the upcoming "Project Nova" rework. Files, one of the best file managers for Windows 10 and 11, has been updated in the Preview channel with a long-requested feature. Tree View is finally available in version 4.1.4, allowing you to quickly browse deeply nested folders without leaving the main view. In addition, the update improved the Windows Fonts folder, allowing you to preview each font without opening the default viewer. Rufus, another useful Windows 11 utility, also received a notable update. Version 4.15 arrived as beta with important fixes for silent Windows 11 installation. It also includes patches for ARM-based Windows PCs, OneDrive removal improvements, and more. Overall, the device proved interesting, but not flawless. On the gaming side Learn about upcoming game releases, Xbox rumors, new hardware, software updates, freebies, deals, discounts, and more. Forza Horizon 6 received two big updates this week. Alongside the Series 2 content update, developers pushed plenty of bug fixes and balancing tweaks. However, they also had to acknowledge the Eliminator CR-farming exploit and shut down the online mode temporarily. Luckily, only a few days later, another fix arrived, which re-enabled Eliminator and patched the exploit. Microsoft announced new games for Game Pass subscribers. Those include EA Sports FC 26, Junkster, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Abyssus, RV There Yet?, and more. Some existing games are leaving the catalog, so be sure to check out the full list here. New games are also available for GeForce NOW subscribers, and they include Embers of the Uncrowned Demo, Aphelion, Megastore Simulator, OPERATOR, Citizen Sleeper, and more. Rockstart Games had plenty of GTA-related news this week. For one, the company gave GTA V players another free update. Those still playing the game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are no longer required to pay $40 to upgrade to the latest-gen version.
