AT&T launching HTC Desire 610 for $199 USD off-contract

After a minor lull in its release schedule, AT&T has made a comeback, offering two new affordable devices for the summer. The first device offered by AT&T this summer is the Lumia 635. The second release targets AT&T's mid-range users by offering HTC’s latest handset, the Desire 610. HTC has been on a high note as of late, releasing the well-received HTC One M8 and posting profits for the first time in nearly a year.

The HTC Desire 610 incorporates some of the design elements and features of the HTC One M8, but packages it in a body using modest materials and offers it at an affordable price. The HTC Desire 610 will offer a 4.7” 480 x 854 display, a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage with microSD expansion, 8MP camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, and 4G LTE.

Although not as sexy as its flagship counterpart, the HTC Desire 610 will offer dual front-facing speakers with BoomSound. The HTC Desire 610 will be available for order online and in stores on July 25, 2014. The device will have a off-contract price of $199.99 USD.

ATT is not a friend of Microsoft. Visit an ATT store and see for yourself. I will into the ATT store in Time Square NYC and couldn't find any Windows Phone.

It's too bad that MS can't figure that out. ATT is where Nokia phones go to die and never be sold, sad but true.

Nokia was making the stupid carrier exclusives. Now that Microsoft owns their devices division we'll see if they continue with that idiotic policy or not. Microsoft has already started selling an unbranded Lumia 1020 at the Microsoft Store. Hopefully they'll sell the unbranded 1520 and 930 soon.

I went into a store with my mom to get her a Lumia 1520 (she wanted a big, easy to read phone with Windows like her tablet). The sales guy tried for 30minutes to talk her into various Android phones.

The Nokia Lumia 635 will pack a 4.5” 480 x 854 pixel display, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB of storage with expansion via microSD, 5MP camera, and 4G LTE.

$100 for front facing camera, 8mp camera and 512 extra ram.

How much more are you willing to pay for access to their app store?

What apps do you want that WP doesn't have? That way we can asses the 100 better =).

At first I though they launched a windows phone lol (610 in name and the rectangles in smaller image)

Yes, I wonder if they are intentionally trying to create confusion. How did they choose that name?
