BlackBerry's new Android flagship will go on sale as the 'BlackBerry Priv'

We've known for a while now that BlackBerry has been working on a new high-end handset - one that will ditch its own operating system in favor of Android. Recent leaks have shown that the device will feature a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge-style dual-curved display, along with a physical (but still touch-sensitive) keyboard that slides out from beneath it.

The device has so far been referred to by its development codename, 'Venice' - but the name with which it will be branded when it goes on sale has apparently revealed, by serial leakster @evleaks:

According to Blass, the new handset will be known as the 'BlackBerry Priv' - an obvious, if slightly awkward-sounding, reference to the company's commitment to the privacy and security of its users.

And if you're not ready to take his word alone, as Blass pointed out himself, N4BB - a site with an excellent track record when it comes to revealing details about BlackBerry and its products - reports that it has independently corroborated this information with its own sources.
