Firstly Tuffgong4 had a good question - although my media players don't seem to write CD's that other players such as car radios can read, whereas Nero does. It hasn't bothered me enough to use Nero though! Does this program do it? Why would anyone use this for audio instead of a media player like iTunes, MP11 (or older - I prefer 10), Realplayer, Musicmatch or anything else?

Secondly what exactly is ISO? Have seen features for it on various burners but I can't say I've ever needed it myself.

imgburn is only an image burning tool (.bin, .nrg, ...) - cdburner is a burning suite.

ImgBurn has read and build modes.

Great update. No mention of Vista compatibility, though.

For me working on XP, Vista Ultimate and Longhorn VERY nicely.
Can't say that about a lot of software - free or paid.

Uses .Net so all systems supported by .Net including vista.

Well 3.x wasn't Vista compatible despite reliance on .Net. There was a question if 4.0 would be Vista compatible during the betas as well but it wasn't answered.

The only thing I can see is that CDBurnerXP has a better builder tool. In ImgBurn you are limited to just selecting a folder or file; there's no explorer-like view to move/rename things. Other than that there's no better burn tool than ImgBurn. It's very compact but does a lot... aside from having an advanced builder.

does this let you name audio tracks so they show up on the stereo in car when playing a title...please pm if you know of another program that does this like Nero (besides nero )

This used to be my favourite Burner years ago, now I'm using Imgburn and I don't see myself switching back. I would only use this if I needed an audio cd and I can't remember the last time I used one of those.

i generally been using ImgBurn for all my data related backups onto dvd discs nowadays.

for audio... i recommend using a program called "Burrrn" (www.burrrn.net) ... it loads up super fast has a decent interface and gets straight to the point and supports .cue files etc and it just about supports any audio format you can think of and best of all it's FREE just like ImgBurn is.

Well, I have installed and tried it out now and all I can say is:

NICE JOB! Some serious improvements have been made since I last tried it.
Burning an audio CD was fast and idiot-proof.

I am looking forward to trying out its ISO feature set.

BTW, not 2MB don't care how you do it. 5MB is more like it but so friggin' what!
It works.

Too bad this needs .Net Framework.
But then again, Nero takes up more space than all the .Nets put together fo its ok. :D

What, are you running Windows 98? what is wrong with the .NET Framework?

Just dont want .Net framework installed for just 1 program. If I had many programs which require it then I dont mind.

Yep,
Although I posted I was going to check this out, as soon as opened it and it said I had to install the net framework crap, it was cancelled and deleted immediately!! Net framework is a worthless POS, unless your a total MS/hotmail fanboy!! Have not and will not EVER install the net framework stuff.
