Fox announces Family Guy mobile game coming in 2014

Fox announced that it's working on a mobile game for the immensely popular TV series, Family Guy, that will come out in 2014. It's partnering with mobile game developer TinyCo, which just so happens to recently have received $20 million in funding.

The game will have its own story line, however much of the material will draw from the over 200 episodes of Family Guy that have aired on television. In fact, 2014 will mark the 15th anniversary of the show, so it'd be pretty good timing to release the game in celebration of that.

It will be set in the oh-so-familiar town of Quahog with all of the same characters. One might wonder whether Brian Griffin, the family pet, will make it into the game even though (spoiler alert) he was killed off from the show recently after starring in over 11 full seasons. Cleveland Brown could make a return as well since it's said that he'll be rejoining the cast of Family Guy after the Cleveland Show was cancelled.

This isn't Family Guy's first venture into the gaming space nor the app space. There's a standard Family Guy app available for iOS already but it's not a game, and a Road to the Multiverse Family Guy game exists but it's not for mobile. The official Family Guy mobile game will be available for iOS and Android — sorry Windows Phone users.

There's no word on pricing or availability just yet.

lets just hope its not like the horrible mobile simpsons game.

the one that even the Simpson's themselves make fun of?

Too bad Cleveland was canceled, it was the best of his shows, the others were wearing thin in comparison. Season 4 was great.

Re: Family Guy at least we don't have to put up with more Brian & Stewie musicals Still a very crappy move but we'll see. I mean they didn't have to kill him, he could've gotten that screenwriting career he wanted and moved on.

God why am I taking any of this seriously? lol

No sir the cleveland show sucked major ass. It wasn't even funny to me. He should have stayed on the family guy show instead of doing his own thing. I am having the worst time watch now since they killed Brian. I hate the new dog. He isn't as smart as Brian.

That last line says it all.
I have to seriously ask you that exact question though?

My 1 word comment was going to be, seriously!

I just clicked on the Family Guy tag from this article, and saw some of the news stories about how Microsoft was supposed to have a Family Guy episode, and later cut it down to a few commercials. Reading through all those comments, about how bad Microsoft was for trying to use FG to sell Windows 7 (I haven't seen any complaints about Google using them for marketing), and even a few people wrote how they hated Win7 because of the changes introduced to it.

Nice to see that 4 years later, nothing has changed.

Not only do we have to watch those crap Family Guy commercials for Google Chrome, in true Google fashion it will not be available for WP.

Well if it's won't be available for Windows Phone then it won't be worth playing ;-)

I have a feeling the game will suck just like every game that's made from a TV show or movie since E.T. was released on Atari in the 80's.

there was an mmo that was stupid
there was a game with the multiverse or something, it was cool, but after i played trough half of it i deleted it
