Neowin Giveaway: MW3 for Xbox in celebration of Veterans Day

If you like free things, this is the place to be. We have a copy of MW3 to give away to one lucky reader for the Xbox platform. It's pretty simple, if you want a chance to win a copy of Modern Warfare 3, read below.

Seeing as it's 11/11/11 and it's also Veterans Day, we figured giving away a copy of MW3 might be a good idea. While not everyone agrees with the mission, it's always important to support your troops which is why this giveaway will have a thankful twist. The contest will end at 11/15/2011 at 11:59PM EST. Anyone can enter as long as your Xbox can play a US version of MW3.

Here is how to enter:

  • You can enter the drawing below by posting a comment thanking the to the troops once per day and
  • You can also Tweet a link to this post once per day and pay tribute to the veterans.
  • Extra bonus entry, if you do something special for a Vet, make sure to post it in the comments below with a link and it will count for two entires.

Good luck to all those who enter and more importantly, thanks to all the veterans out there, we appreciate what you have sacrificed for your respective country.

To my fellow brothers in arms, Thank you for serving with me in such hard times, thank you for paying the ultimate sacrifice for your nation. For all of you will not be forgotten, you are all brothers, fathers, sisters, and mothers, but most importantly you are all loved and remembered. And to my fellow 19D Cavalry Scouts, we'll meet again as it was so wonderfully put in fiddler's green: Halfway down the trail to Hell, In a shady meadow green Are the Souls of all dead troopers camped, Near a good old-time canteen. And this eternal resting place Is known as Fiddlers' Green. Marching past, straight through to Hell The Infantry are seen. Accompanied by the Engineers, Artillery and Marines, For none but the shades of Cavalrymen Dismount at Fiddlers' Green. Though some go curving down the trail To seek a warmer scene. No trooper ever gets to Hell Ere he's emptied his canteen. And so rides back to drink again With friends at Fiddlers' Green. And so when man and horse go down Beneath a saber keen, Or in a roaring charge of fierce melee You stop a bullet clean, And the hostiles come to get your scalp, Just empty your canteen, And put your pistol to your head And go to Fiddlers' Green.

Scouts out my friends

My brother lost his legs, was hit by a ied. Was featured on local news. I thank the vets every day, forever.

Thank you to all the troops out there that risk their life for our freedoms, whether they agree with the wars or not!

I forgot about this compo, but I didn't forget the troops in memorial at the weekend.

Thanks to you all who have sacrificed so much for us

I hope you realize you would most likely not be alive had nobody stopped the Nazis. Thank you for the ignorant comment.

you do realize more people are killed daily on US streets by the hands of US citizens than are killed in combat zones each day, right?

Anyways, thank you troops and fellow vets!

Once again, thanks to our troops. Just because it is no longer vet's day, doesn't mean when you see a vet, you shouldn't say thanks!

My late grandfather served in WWII, so I have great respect for all our vets.

I'm a PC gamer, but I've been on the fence about getting an XBOX, if I win this I'll take it as a sign to finally take the plunge and buy one

I have two fried currently serving in the army ! Thanks to us and all who not here that served for its nation

I have some friends serving and I'm thankful for all that they do - it cant possibly be easy.
And I have an older Xbox360 that can play a US version of MW3

Never forget they have done a lot more than fight to protect our country they fought for an ideal. That of freedom and this freedom is inherent to all people.

Thank for all the troop that currently fighting for our security and thanks to those whos fighted for our nation!

It`s hard to put into words the respect i have for these guys. The yobs that mug/rob them should be made to do a stint in the forces themselves. Would soon show em there not that tough!

HUGE thanks to the troops! For being the last line of decency that provides our freedoms! And defending us against the -real- heathens. THANK YOU!

Those brave men and women don't do it for money or fame, they go beyond the call of duty and do more than just a job because honor, valor and pride is their lifestyle.

I salute you heroes and wish you the best of luck.

I also ask all Neowin members to a moment of silent in respect to all those who are killed in action, missing in action, or a prisoner of war.

Thank you.

My late uncle was a WW2 Vet in the Canadian Military and fought in Europe. He never spoke of his experiences but I imagine he witnessed some horrible things. We will always remember you Uncle George.

Thanks to all service members, but an extra special thanks to cousins Aaron (USA in Afghanistan) and Josh (USA in Iraq), uncles Joe (Ret. USMC) and Don (ret. USA), grandfather Charles (ret. USN), grandfather Peter (ret. USA), grandmother Ann (ret. USA), friends Dave (2 USA tours in Iraq), Dave (USA), and Robert (ret. USA).

In honor of the bravery and sacrifice of the people willing to put their lives on the line such that the rest of us can enjoy freedom. Thank you all.

Personally, I hope the game goes to one of the active duty members posting on here -- can do anything more 'special' than put their lives in danger for the safety of their nation.

Thank you Santa, for all what you do, every Christmas, year after year! And to the Easter Bunny too.

I remember those who died every day, not just on 11/11. It's important that we never forget. And I hope that one day if I lose any of my numerous friends who've gone in next to do what's right, that they do it with the same bravery and pride as those before them. Lest we forget.

Today we remember those who gave up their own personal dreams, visions and lives in order to fight for justice, rights and freedoms we enjoy today.

Lest we forget those people today and everyday.

Remembrance Day may be the iconic date that represents those sacrifices, but we must remember and respect those sacrifices every single day we practise our rights and freedoms.

am a vet from Iraq and Afghanistan, I hope each deployment count as double entry, me and my son are dying to get this game.

Thanks to the troops!
Count me in. But I'm going to be completely honest, I will sell it, and buy my brother a copy of BF3.

(Before anyone jumps on me) My brother is a veteran still serving, and asked me to get him a copy of BF3 for his birthday coming up. ^_^

As ex military I always pay respect whether on armistace day or not. Everybody should always remember those who laid down their lives for the freedoms you enjoy.
