uTorrent 3.3.2.30180

µTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. It was designed to use as little CPU, memory and space as possible while offering all the functionality expected from advanced clients. µTorrent was written with efficiency in mind. Unlike many torrent clients, it does not hog valuable system resources - typically using less than 6MB of memory, allowing you to use the computer as if it weren't there at all. Additionally, the program itself is contained within a single executable less than 1.0 MB in size.

3.3.2 is as buggy as usual when they release a new version... It's almost impossible these guys behind the scenes to be developers... Crashes when you install it, when you close it, when you open it and when you update it... It's like in Alpha stage. They really mess with the code the initial developer had written, nothing else. With each version you don't know what works and what doesn't.

Anyway, at least you can disable the ads to a point... Go to Options->Preferences->Advanced and make sure these are off:

left_rail_offer
gui.show_plus_upsell
sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled
bt.enable_pulse
gui.show_notorrents_node
offers.content_offer_autoexec

Also, be careful when you install it. It has 3 offers to install bloated junk. Pay attention especially at the last one because it's masked to pretend it's the usual license agreement and you must press "Agree". Press "Decline" instead.

I use it every day, all day, and have never experienced any crashes.

No ads here (3.3.1).

Shaun is referring to the days when you didn't need to change lots of attributes to disable them.

Ive never seen ads on uTorrent, and I've used every single release (alpha/beta/final), for many years.

Do you know why you don't see ads? Because they are THAT BAD at coding... Since the company bought the torrent client, only ads and bugs has implemented... And as you see, even this they can't get it right... Do a clean installation and you'll see 'em.

You can't even install utorrent in the directory you prefer anymore, because they messed the initial code too much and currently they don't know how to do it... They hit wall with UAC and Program Files folder.
